The OKC bombing is the first time I can remember seeing the news and understanding the scale of it.

OJ car chase. I was at a sleep-away baseball camp in middle of nowhere Oklahoma.

Probably the Gulf War. Was pretty young and really the only memory I have is the night vision shots they had on the news. Little me thought it looked so cool watching all the green stuff flying across the screen. Looking back, definitely not so cool.
This is my answer as well. I was 5 yrs old when this war happened, and I distinctly remember my parents watching the news every night and seeing the night vision footage. I don't remember any of the details of the war but remembered the night vision and I have vivid memories of the soldiers wearing gas masks.

reagan being shot
Yup, was major news.
JR being shot was even larger though, which predated Reagan begin shot.
The one that sank in deepest first(5th grade), Challenger explosion.
Berlin Wall was the most substantial worldwide event in my youth. It was something we never thought we would see. It changed everything.

I didn’t understand what it meant but this.
Rodney King and OJ are the first things where I actually understood what was happening and remember.

I remember my dad watching the OJ Simpson trial. My mom was telling me the other day that one of the most embarrassing moments of her life was my brother and I pitching a fit in wal mart because we thought some random black guy trying to shop was OJ coming to kill us.

When John Walsh's (America's Most Wanted host)son Adam was kidnapped then found deceased. As a kid born in the mid 70's and raised in the early 80's we were scared shitless of getting kidnapped.

First lunar landing. It was kind of a big thing.

I was like 10 before I realized that the lunar landing happened wayyyy before I was born and I had just seen a replay when I was 8 or so
