How do you define best?
If you mean views, my vote for #1 goes to the view from up the Klein Matterhorn, the mountain next to and overlooking the Matterhorn. It is the highest point in Europe assessable by lifts. At the second to last stop from the top there is a cafeteria with an outdoor terrace. From one side you can see the Matterhorn. From the other you are looking down at the snow covered Alps with the Town of Zermatt in the distance. This is the most spectacular scenery I have ever experienced.
2nd place goes to the views of the Mediterranean from the trails of the Cinque Terre.
Next comes the views of the Mediterranean along the Amalfi Coast, specifically out hotel balcony in Positano.
The OP's favorite was Newport, R.I. I have been there too and agree it is a pretty place.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere east of Raton, NM. Maybe Pagosa Springs, CO.

Sicily. Unbelievable beauty. From one of the world's most active Volcanos to white sand beaches with crystal clear water that makes you think you're in the Caribbean. Intact Greek temples, and a mashup of many ancient cultures that have left behind incredibly nice people and some of the most delicious food on earth. To me, Giardini Naxos is heaven on earth.

Austria/Switzerland - looked like fricking Heaven on Earth. Unreal.

I’ve walked that cliff. It made me feel like I was in a quirky Wes Anderson movie scene. Tremendous place.
The Kennedys were married at St Mary’s nearby (as I assume you know).
My favorite place has been a tie with Solden, Austria (mountains) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (mega city).

Saioko, a small village in the Fijian bush. The sweetest people and the greatest views of the ocean you'll ever see.
