LOL, I was thinking more of the 1990's.

It's central to everything worthwhile in Switzerland and the mountains and that big lake are just a gorgeous backdrop to wake up to every day. Lucerne is big enough to have a bunch of great restaurants and all of life's pleasures and necessities right there in town, but not too big. No riffraff, hoodrats, or any other human debris, yet a cool place to cool your heels. Not far at all from Grindelwald either.
Lucerne, Switzerland

Me and a buddy spent several weeks in Grand Cayman in 1991. Flew down with a hard shell suit case full of beer. We hitch hiked all over the island and partied with locals and had a great time and met a lot of interesting folks. It’s a beautiful place.
In the 80s I spent a few months in Marathon Key and Key West for the company I worked for. The food, scenery and laid back atmosphere was amazing.

For years my wife and I have celebrated our anniversary at this little cabin in Mentone, AL. It’s pure heaven.

CSB, I wasn’t aware of this but will definitely add to my list.
Best is hard to nail to one depending on what you’re looking for. I’ve never been more in awe at the scenery than in Yosemite National Park and Tuscany. Never been more in relaxed vacation mode than San Diego
