Loved the AFL on NBC back in the 00’s, used to go to Voodoo games relatively often, which were a blast and pulled great crowds to the NOLA arena. They even had the Arena Bowl in New Orleans, for some reason I couldn’t go.

I went to the 2007 Arena Bowl. Was a blowout and one of the most boring live sporting events I ever attended lol. Voodoo games were fun tho.

Made a drinking game out of it where we took a shot every time they compared it to the "outdoor game". Also, have many fond memories of going to GB Blizzard games with my Dad

After one of the first Voodoo games, I met then-commissioner David Baker on the field. Dude was just standing off to the side and I got a pic with him - dude was stoked that someone recognized him. Now he works for the NFL Hall of Fame I believe. Super nice guy.

Wasnt much of a VooDoo fan.

Went once.

Was a much bigger fan of the Night.

The games in the Dome were wild!

Fricking ESPN killed the arena league. Bought all the rights, and televised one game a week (during the week) with Mike and Mike of all people.

It had really flourished with NBC showing multiple games a weekend and treating it like a big deal, and the league having regional broadcasts for the other games.

Remember the NO Night that played in the Dome in the 90's, before the arena was built.

i got to attempt a FG (from midfield) at halftime for one.
make it and i win VIP tickets (suite tickets, hotel, etc. for the Arena Bowl that was in Nola that year).

first thing that caught my attention was how much higher the crossbar was.

was sooooo worried about having the height, that i got way under the ball.
kicked it straight enough, but looked like a pooch punt.
high as hell, buy well short of goal post.

My ex-wife and I went to a local indoor football league team game in Allen Texas years ago. We were standing around in an area near the end zone where they set up small tables and served food and cocktails. We were introduced to a former Heisman trophy winner who was somehow involved with the league or the team…maybe Marcus Allen or Tim Brown. A former LSU running back was on the roster but I don’t remember who that was either.

But I vividly remember the QB making a low trajectory pass that missed the receiver but managed to hit one of the tables and hit it at an angle like a rock skipping on the water. The ball, still traveling at a high rate of speed, hit my ex right in her arse. Now that - I remember that.

I think it’s funny there was “minor league” arena football called AF2.

Went to 1 Texas Terror game in the Summit.

Anyone remember the dimensions of the field? Was an interesting novelty, but generally a waste of time to see former college players trying to play football on a smaller field.

The Terror had some cool mascots with classic monsters, like Frankenstein running around. But I guess they were too scary, since the team was eventually re-branded as the Thunderbears.
