I'm just shocked he didn't blame it on racism. That's the usual "go to" for them.

We only get 1-2 big science fiction movies a year. The supply is too low to get too upset about them.

If you only get 1-2 of them, why waste your time making a shite one?

That article makes a good argument, but I don’t think 90% of people are uncomfortable watching homosexuality displayed on film. Maybe if it’s a sex scene, sure, but two dudes being married, holding hands, and kissing isn’t going to ruin a movie. The problem is this:

quote:

every time it pops up in a movie or TV show it comes off like a lecture instead of a natural part of the story.

This is why people avoid movies - especially blockbuster movies or kid movies - that feature homosexuality. It’s always a tool to corrupt what people think is normal and treat people like they’re too stupid to know what’s best for their own lives.

Think again. It's probably higher than 90%. Only dudes comfortable with watching two dudes go at it, are gay dudes.

They can just go ahead and use these comments to write the same article about Strange World, Disney’s next animated film which will have the “first gay teen romance in an animated feature film.” It’s going to tank even worse than Lightyear.

Do they even release it at this point? Just can it and cut the losses.

Reminds me a lot of the excuses dor many other flops. I mean it’s not just about one scene. When your main star is out there publicly telling people to GF themselves if they don’t like it before the film even opens, you ge this type of reaction.

One of my most upvoted posts on MTV. Don’t care if it’s a bit self fellatio.

“I don’t want Pixar to fail because they included lesbians. I want them to fail for patting themselves on the back for including lesbians.”

The movie simply sucked dick

To be honest, it could have showed buzz grabbing another pilots dick and if the movie was good it would have made money. People aren’t nearly as convicted to their morals as they say

Make a really good movie and you can throw in all the gay shite you want. But continue to put gay and other woke things in shitty movies and nobody will watch

Agreed. DFAF about gay stuff. Just don’t make garbage and expect accolades and money or expect to be immune to criticism because you included it.

Yeah. It's easy to look at a shitty movie and scream, "This movie failed because it has a gay moment!"

Reminds me of the time when congress wanted to decry video games. Of course they didn't go after Mortal Kombat (because it was absurdly popular) but did target Night Trap (which bombed anyway).

You may not care but millions of parents do care. They have spoken loudly that they do not want this stuff in children's movies. And this cuts across racial and political lines. "Leave the kids out of your gay and gender identity politics"

They are more tolerant of it in the Marvel/older kid type action movies. Modern society is saturated in the gay pride thing so it is unavoidable when they are older.

But young kids are a big NO. Parents decide when to have those conversations with their children, not some corporate hack who sneaks this stuff in children's entertainment.

Disney is at risk of losing their unique spot in people's hearts. They have gotten a pass because they have built up a 100 years of goodwill that crosses generations. Memories of Mickey and Donald and the rest have always kept the people coming back to their movies and parks year after year.

They are the world's largest entertainment company so it isn't likely they will ever go away or fail. But they may forever lose their special status if they don't back off and do it soon.

This looks stupid today. It will look hilarious tomorrow.

So the director of a movie is proud of something that took years of his life to finish, and he wants people to like it? How offensive. Oh, the excuses. Wtf do you think a director is going to say? "This thing I made for 3 years is garbage, and even though it's still in theaters, I'll shite on it so that any remaining people who still might want to check it out definitely don't." Not likely.

Had zero to do with swapping out Tim Allen or Chris Evans calling me a 'dinosaur'(which is actually a compliment... but I digress) for thinking there needed to be any sort of social commentary about adult sexuality in a KID'S MOVIE.

Yep. internet trolls. Totally.
