Ran across this image, is it true, or is it Big Oil propaganda?

Possibly in the ground, but not necessarily recoverable or economically recoverable.

The truth?
We don't really know how much oil we have left.
Hell, we aren't really *sure* how oil is made.
There are guesses, that are just that, guesses.

I've seen many peak oil deadlines go by.
Technology as made America's vast oil resources evermore recoverable. It is still advancing.

Wouldn't shock me if that was at least close to accurate.

Peak oil is just based on current technology and costs. As technology grows and costs are within a marketable range the peak oil date moves back.

Pretty damn close. The new finds in the Permian about 4-5 years ago were pretty significant and a lot of it is recoverable.

I've always had a problem with the term "fossil fuel"
I believe its a renewable resource the earth provides through chemical breakdowns from its core temperatures.

Hard to say. We've used petroleum for about 100 years and that's from oilfields all across America. I doubt that area can outproduce those fields by two or three times.

They don't want you to know that it is renewable and screws up their timeline for evolution.

Don’t forget that technology has changed over time and will continue to change so it will keep getting easier and more efficient to extract.

The number Imhave seen thrown around is 400 years for total fossil fuel deposits/reserves.

You are correct, however we are using it faster than the earth is making it. Much faster.

We don't really know that. We don't know how much there is, or how fast the earth is making it

True...
We can crank out CHO molecules from 60%+ of earth's mass

Will never be produced at that rate (20MM BO/d). KSA has never produced at that rate. The US has never produced at that rate.

I don’t give a shite about the next 200 years. Suck it dry now.

Irony - if all the oil in that area were above ground, in storage tanks, and it was decided that oil was evil and must be disposed of, environmentalists would scream if you suggested it be pumped back underground
