Does anyone remember when the Dealer would install rear bumpers with their name stamped on them? They wouldn't sell you a plain bumper, though you could get one afermarket.

I remove them immediately and put them n the trash. every time my wife takes her car in for maintenance/oil change, they put a new front and rear license plate frame on so I have to take it off.
Bad story I worked at a car dealership in college, and they traded a new car with another dealership so I had to remove the original adhesive badge from the truck lid face and I ended up scratching the car. No problem, I put the new adhesive one from our dealership right over top of the scratch. Felt bad about that. I hated having to put them on brand new cars.

I always buy used, but I thought the only reason people left them on was because they got free oil changes for the first year or so if they kept them through said period?

I bought a car years ago, and I asked them to remove all of the dealer logo decals off of the car, and the salesman was visibly upset and refused to have them removed. He asked wh, and I simply said I didn't want all the decals on the car. I even had them remove the model decals. They didn't remove the dealer one though. I ended up removing it myself.

It's always one of the first things I ask the salesmen and I've never gotten any push back from them. If one of them ever does I'm walking. I'm not advertising for anybody for free, especially a damn car dealership.

shite has gotten out of hand. I bought a new car in January and when I went to pick it up it had www.bannerford.com across the top, BANNER in chrome letters across the tailgate, and a banner ford license plate frame.
But at least the shite is removable unlike when they used to stamp the dealership name across the back bumper.

I don't really notice license plate frames... like most rational people.

Do they still offer this?

GTFO and take it off
because a good majority of the population is too lazy to take it off or even notice. So the dealer gets some free advertising.

Yep, as long as you purchase the vehicle from them. There is a limit of two changes per year, though.

Get oil change, remove plate
Install plate before next oil change, repeat

Some people keep it on there to flex where they bought the car from
If it’s a nicer vehicle then they’ll keep it. Makes them feel fancy by having “audi of Lafayette” on their Ford Focus.

This is what I do as well. No one is forcing you to keep that trash on your vehicle.

did he keep the manufacturer's logo?
no, just like i wouldn’t remove the Nike swoosh from my shoes.
but just like i don’t add Foot Locker stickers to my shoes, i don’t want dealership stickers on my car either.

Every car I have purchased from dealerships I had them remove their dealership badging and/or license plate frame.

Bought a vehicle from Gerry Lane in BR (will never do that again for countless reasons). Free oil changes for life with the front license plate on. Took it off immediately and threw it in glovebox.
Only owned it a couple years because I totaled it, but during that time I’d pull into the parking lot a few Saturdays each year, take the piece of shite plate out of the glove box, put it on while they watched, got my free oil change, and took it off before I left.
My broke 21 yr old arse did it out of financial necessity, but looking back I am proud of my efforts.

I know someone who won a car calling in to the radio station. But they had to leave the ridiculous station logo wrap on for 1 year as part of the deal.
add a sign to the car that reads "Here's the crappiest radio station in town."
