Celsius twitter
The replies are golden.
Your grandpappy was right folks: If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.

Celsius was mentioned quite a bit around here whenever someone would ask “I’ve got $X,000 to park for up to a year, what should I do with it?”

Explain to me like I’m 5… so basically people are trying to cash out their crypto and the exchanges where they are held are saying “nope, we don’t have the cash to support”?

Right? I seem to rmember someone in the original I-bonds thread saying something to the effect that we were all morons to trust the government with our money when we could be swapping this coin for that coin and staking that coin on this exchange and getting 20%.
Bunch of morons, some of us folk are. I started my etrade account in 2006, I feel like I was blessed at an early age to see how fast shite can crater, my investing career started by losing a bunch of capital. I dont blame alot of newer folks; just learn from it for next time things seem too good to be true.

Oh they'll still take your deposits.
They just aren't honoring withdrawals.
Seems legit.
Maybe save your money for the forthcoming PulseChain they've been shilling so hard?

there was a poster here who swore by this shite. have not seen him or her in a long time. cannot remember username.
He prolly lost his arse.
i did not like i bonds early on due to hold time and interest rates but now as rates have went way up and equities are doing terrible it is not a bad place to park some money. i have very little bitcoin so this shite does not even bother me.

There is a trade on the other end of these high yield crypto lending scams. Reminiscent of XIV blowing up. Why I always told people to stay the frick away from it.

Yep. And when you mentioned the risks, you’d get downvoted and hit with an “OK Boomer” comment.

You would think people would have learned a lesson in 2018 but I guess that’s how young those posters are

Binance halts bitcoin withdrawals
CNBC
quote:
Binance said Monday that it is temporarily pausing bitcoin withdrawals “due to a stuck transaction causing a backlog.”
At first, Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao said in a tweet that the issue would be fixed within 30 minutes. But he later amended that to say, “Likely this is going to take a bit longer to fix than my initial estimate.”
Binance is the world’s largest crypto exchange. The company handles spot trading volumes of more than $14 billion and nearly $50 billion in derivatives volume in a single day, according to data from CoinGecko.

Crypto isn't for Boomers. You need to actively be in the space. Like daily.
Most "boomers" just buy indexes and go play golf. Which is fine.
Any active trader that put the same effort into crypto would learn the necessary information to do well in the space.
Its not for everyone.

People who enjoy real crypto don't care about Celsius. Not your keys. Not real crypto. People were warned about this.

lesson I've learned is only keep what you are actively wanting to swap/trade on any centralized service. Utilize the hardware wallet for storage and assume the risks of self-custody. Worth it for the peace of mind.
