LOL at those of you that thought freedom could be found through the courts.

Ok, reading more into it, this judgment a joke and ripe for appeals.

“The budget presented at trial did not include the cost of paying the sheriff’s office for law enforcement, the ruling states. “

SG already pays for Sheriff services via property taxes. I thought this stupid argument was settled in 2014.

He also stated that the SG incorporation "only minimally satisfies" the statutory requirements.....meaning IT DOES.

What a joke. He must be on MOP's payroll.

But he ruled that St. George likely would not collect enough money to pay for needed services and account for its share of city-parish retirement costs. The budget presented at trial did not include the cost of paying the sheriff’s office for law enforcement, the ruling state

Don’t parish taxes pay for the Sherif’s office? St. George would still pay Parish taxes.

The unincorporated areas *and central and zachary) pay for EBRPSO via property taxes. That doesn't change, incorporated or not. The judge is an idiot.

Not surprised. It always comes down to money. No shitehole city will allow its tax base to leave. I know it is an incorporated area, but it’s always about the money.

Need Kiran to uncover something big in the malfeasance department against Broome and her piece of shite administration.

Any progress on this is good for StG.
The longer this drags on in the courts, it just costs more in lawyer fees and there is more crooked money bankrolling Baton Rouge than the good guys.
As stated, this was always going to be appealed, so the quicker it makes its way through the courts the better the chances Justice is funded. Because Justice has to be funded if it's going to be served.

Doubts SG could support itself and says BR needs our tax dollars.
maybe I’m missing something but why is that of any concern to the judge?

Technically, SG can’t incorporate if it will materially harm BR.

However, admitting that St George is a tax colony for BR is a legal problem in and of itself IMHO since they can’t or won’t incorporate the area.

Hell St George is basically funding all the expenses to run the bus service for Baton Rouge that St George doesn’t even use. No telling what else they have been paying for else too.

That’s exactly what is going to happen. This ruling (if made final by Supreme Court) will cause people to start packing boxes “. People are fed up this bullshite from the City and State government. Change what you have the power to change and that’s your address.
