There’s a reason his jersey is retired. Maybe one day Crews jersey will als be retired. Todd’s swing was so smooth

I’m glad for this joke.

The fact that there is a discussion about an active player being compared to an all-time great speaks volumes for how great Crews is.

Pretty subjective topic to be an absolute fact. Bregman, Walker, Belle, Mathieu, Larson, Furniss, Sirotka were all great prospects and I think some deserving HOF pros. I’m sure there are a handful more I’m not even thinking of.

Walker than Eddy Furniss. Crews might be third.

Nope. He was an average second baseman and didn’t have plus speed even though he was a good base runner.

Best pure hitter I’ve ever seen in person - such a sweet swing - butter is a great description - not flashy in the field but made every play - excellent ambassador for lsu

Which part of that do you disagree with specifically?

Crews is one of the best for sure if he continues on this trajectory but Walker was unbelievable and his stats absolutely ridiculous

In 3 years his averages per year
.396 average
17 homers
47 BB
82 RBIs
20 doubles
103 Hits
78 Runs
30 strikeouts
46 Base on Balls
17 Stolen Bases

So as you can see it was ridiculous

It is subjective but it isn’t, he said he’s the best position player pro prospect to come through LSU and that’s very true.

Those guys are all great players and had nice careers, none of them will be entering their draft year with as much buzz as Dylan will. He’s college baseball Mike Trout

Walker showed up after I had graduated from LSU. I took some Baylor friends with me to the 1993 regional in BR. Baylor was the 2 seed. First time Walker walks up to the plate I just say, "sweetest swing you'll ever see, watch this".

Todd tees off on the first pitch and sent it over the right field wall.

He also delivered in postseason. That grand slam to finish off A&M in Omaha in 1993 was a special memory.

Crews is damn good, though.

Let's enjoy them both.

30 years ago college players weren’t valued very high by MLB. They wanted to get guys out of high school to develop in their own farm system. Also scouting is much easier now than in 80’s and 90’s bc they have more video and showcase games
To evaluate talent.

1. He doesn’t. (He just can’t go pro)
2. What right does he have to join an organization that he’s not qualified for?
3. MLB is a private organization that sets the rules for admission. He could’ve gone pro out of high school, but he chose college.

None of that has anything to do with how pure of a baseball player Dylan Crews is though

He had the quickest hands at bat. I got a speeding ticket when I accelerated in response to hearing his walk-off homer vs Aggies in B.R. Regionals. I was on I-10 Overpass at Maringuin.
