If the Court bends to pressure then pressure will be applied by both sides for every big decision.
Like when a referee changes his call because the coach yelled. Then both coaches feel whichever coach gets the loudest and most out of control will get the call.

It should be about what the fricking CONSTITUTION says, not negotiation and horse-trading!

I think you just answered your own question. No one knows anything about any of this crap without social media. How many weeks did it take the population of the US in 1954 to even have a grasp of the Brown decision. What year did Thurgood Marshal get appointed to the court?
How old are you?
RvW has been the left's Holy Grail long before the internet was around. This issue has been the left's Litmus Test for Supreme Court nominees since the opinion came down. They’ve accused every Republican nominee of lying about the issue. They destroyed Judge Bork because of it. And anyone who was around when Casey came out knows that they’ve been completely f*cking INSANE about this issue since 1973.
This insanity is nothing new. While the Internet allows them to organize more easily, trust me when I say that they would still be marching in the streets and protesting at Justice's homes regardless of whether or not they could organize it on the Internet.

The Court would lose more credibility if they walk that decision back
That’s probably why Alito or Thomas leaked the opinion,

We'll see.
I'm going to clarify my opinion: the Court will not overturn RvW. If the Court rules as you describe, by ruling that RvW is not before the Court, then my opinion will be correct.

And so is GWBush. Has there been a President that lost the respect of his core fan base like W has? Dude couldn't bring us the Marriage Amendment and went 50% solid conservative SCOTUS judges.

No. You said that the court would uphold RvW. Not ruling on it is not upholding it. You can look for it to be in the Supreme Court's next session if the Supreme Court doesn't overturn it this session.

I don’t know why this surprises anyone. Roberts is the Lincoln Project’s boy on SCOTUS.

Exactly what I told you would happen. From the get-go, my theory was that Roberts was the leaker so that he could drum up a ton of bad press for the SCOTUS, spark a bunch of angry protests, and convince another "conservative" judge to change their mind.

They are not deciding that....they deciding if Mississippi can decide that
This is what will be decided, they are not making a judgment on the law defining abortion, just whether the decision goes back to the states.
Which is the right choice because the supreme court HAD NO STANDING in making the decision in the first place.

We have nine SCOTUS justices. On any issue involving interpretation, we will have nine different views, even if some of them share many elements. Without negotiation among the Justices (e.g. “I cannot join the opinion if you include that sentence …”), we would get few written opinions.

The problem is they continue to make decisions based on perceived public opinion and not the interpretation of the law.
See Obamacare.

Bird35, you are exactly right. This is what the mob rule Left want. They are the ones that created the current atmosphere and hysteria around any SCOTUS nominee starting with Bjork and continued on for every single Republican nominated SCOTUS. Somehow there wasn't much fanfare around Roberts though....they must have known something.
But the political football of a SCOTUS nominee and hysteria and politicization of SCOTUS nominees is what the Left started and they love it. The next logical step is to create pressure and mob rule with SCOTUS decisions.
