maybe he did.
he also was broke as frick. worked 2 jobs around the clock. wasn’t handed a dime. fought in WWI. had a measly farm to feed his family on a red dirt hill. and raised 5 kids in a dirt shack in backwoods on a piece of property he spent his life’s savings on.
He also never made any excuses or blamed anyone for his situation. just owned it, grinded, kept his nose clean, and provided his children more than what he had. you know… living that white privilege life and all.

My pops, who I haven't talked to in years, had a black dr come in his room at the VA. Pops promptly told him to go fetch a whitey. Black Dr says "so you're a racist" to which pops says "no I'm a separatist". Black Dr says "okay I'll go find myself a n****r patient" and walked out of the room.
I say again, I haven't talked to my dad in years. He's in his early 70s and I know others that wouldn't hire a black attorney, dr, etc. Never heard of a black person refusing to hire a whitey. So these people exist, just not in the way the article suggests.

Ok cool. Just tell them, "We'll hire some diversity candidates without regard for their merit and assign them to your account since it's so important to you. Oh, what's that? You want the best attorneys to represent you? Maybe you should stay in your lane."
It’s not like there’s some enormous pool of immensely talented minority attorneys in Baton Rouge who are being overlooked by Kean Miller or Breazeale simply because of their race.

This is undoubtedly true, but why do minorities allow it? Who wants to work their tail off to be seen as a forced hire even if they weren't? Now all minority employees in higher level jobs will forever have an asterisk by their names.
This would infuriate me if I were a highly talented minority. It strips the success of qualified hires because people will always question how they got the job. Seems to be setting people back, not integrating them in a meaningful way.
