2 really good ones.
One was dropped by Lacy.
I would like to see him develop more of a Short to Mid game though.
No questions on his running ability
Loving the QB battle so far

If Brennan doesn’t start he will be the equivalent of Bad Luck Brian. Was in line to start in 2018 and then Burrow transferred in. Started 2020 then got hurt. Weird fishing injury in 2021. Then talked into not transferring only to be a backup. God I hope he’s able to beat out the competition and start.

Well Blake Ruffino is an absolute moron with no sources so that makes sense why he’s wrong. Also, Doucet said Daniels had the lead on Hunt & Hill last week. But after today’s performance I doubt that’s true

I’ll be stunned if nuss doesn’t take the first snap vs Florida state. He throws the most catchable ball and puts it where the receiver will be. Myles throws the ball to where the receiver is.

All good stuff from everyone.
I noticed some other things. Brennan gets that cry baby face a lot. Kind of a roll your eyes/I can’t believe it look. I don’t think Kelly will like that but not sure what he is used to.
Daniel’s seemed even tempered and obviously He is new to the team. I still worry a bit about the locker room “stuff” when he left ASU. You can be a talent and not a leader. What do the coaches want.
Nuss by far has the more fiery personality. I just feel he has more “potential” to be the whole package. Do you look for the perfect qb and hope you get it?

Damone

Spring Game QB takeaways:
Jayden clearly shows the most immediate potential and will start. Howard will be next in line. Brennan and Nuss will transfer.

Damone you need to go back to selling tickets with Ratt. Your an idiot. Yes a COMPLETE MORON!! Nuss ain’t going anywhere stupid. We’re you watching the same game I was. If so he’s gonna have to really go backwards in fall camp not to be the starter in the dome baw. Now go get homes little brother those Earth Wind and Fire tickets!

nope. Burrow transferred in BECAUSE Brennan wasn't up to the job, after the Spring of 2018.

In spring of '18, Brennan had no competition (McMillian and Narcisse). But Brennan didn't prove he was ready, and the staff knew it, so Orgeron went out desperately looking for a transfer, and we got Burrow.

Burrow didn't take Brennan's spot -- Brennan wasn't the guy.

McMillan was going to start in 2018 before Burrow.

Ban bet? At least one, possibly both, will be here through the 2022 season.

Super good? One really good one, two bad ones

You might wanna rewatch the game. His first one to Lacy was a bad over though. Second one was the deep ball to Brain Thomas that got them to the 1 for the TD run next play. And then the third one was the second deep throw to lacy that was perfectly thrown in the corner of the end zone that he dropped. CBK even got on to lacy.

You're clearly in need of an appointment with an optometrist. Nuss looks better than all of them by a significant margin and it's not even debatable.

I want all of them to stay.

But I really think Brennan would be taking too big a risk making a questionable decision if he did stay.

Think about it. Nuss stays and doesn’t get the job? Oh well. He has a shot next year. One of the three is guaranteed gone next year anyway. Daniels doesn’t get the job? Oh well. He’ll still get some snaps in certain packages AND gets another chance next year. Brennan doesn’t get the job? He spends his last year of eligibility on a bench as potentially the third string QB. It is a HUGE risk. And his chances just got smaller.

This is exactly what will happen. They brought Myles back before Daniels was available. They didn't bring Daniels in to play backup, nor would he have come here with 3 other QBs on the roster, one a sixth year senior, if he wasn't going to start. You don't leave a starting P5 gig to go play backup.

With Daniels starting, Myles is gone since he only has this year remaining. Since Daniels has 2 years remaining, Nuss isn't playing backup at LSU for 2 years, plus risk being 3rd in line if Howard passes him in the next two years.

The only way it doesn't happen is if Myles is so confident that he will start that he stays past the deadline to play somewhere else next season. They may be dangling the starting carrot in front of him well enough to accomplish this.

Correct. Knock on wood he stays healthy. Regardless of who took the most snaps and played with 1,2nd offense today. All the QBS looked tremendous today. Great to have depth there.

BK will continue stating publicly that the QB position remains open going into the fall just for competitions sake but he knows and the team knows Brennan is the starter. It has nothing to do with him being at LSU for a decade. It has everything to do with how he performed this spring. He was incredible running the offense and is incredible throwing the football. I know some folks were worried about lack of touch on intermediate throws but he’s got that figured out now. He is now everything you want out of a QB.

That being said, JD will have specific packages designed for him. He’ll like get 7-12 snaps a game. He’s very good with his feet. I know there are many on this board who shite on on Brennan for not being a dual threat but to be honest, give me a QB that can push the ball down field with his arm. Especially when that QB has so many incredible WRs to get the ball to. This isn’t a knock on JD. He can make some decent throws and will only get better and like I stated above, he can tuck it and get up field quick. He’d have to improve by a large margin throwing the ball to be the starter though. It could happen.

Howard is very young with a lot of potential and will be a great LSU Qb eventually.

Nuss is very intriguing. That kid is a good ball player and is a gamer. If something played out where Brennan or JD was unavailable, Nuss can step in and I can definitely see him having a good season and winning ball games and putting up big number. He’s the wildcard to me. He’s got tons of talent and could be a guy that once he steps on the field, he’s going to stay there and not look back. Hope he sticks around.

Media only had short clips of practices from spring. I was fortunate enough to attend several practices this spring along with some of the usual LSU VIPs. Just to be clear, I’m not a VIP or heavyweight donor. I have a family member that is close to BK and the program and was blessed to attend to entire practices several times. Not just 15min- 45 minutes.

We’re in good shape at Qb. As a fan, if you aren’t excited about what BK is going to bring to the program, then something is wrong with you. This team is going to surprise the shite out of everyone this. I’m not saying CFP but will win way more than people are predicting. In a year 2 he’ll have us as a top 8 team. Year 3 and beyond he’ll have them in the CFP hunt. Not a sunshine pumper at all but it’s hard not to be impressed with BK. He did a lot at ND despite the difficulties of getting top prospects academically eligible. His recruiting pool was vastly small because of the academic standards but he won’t face that here.

And what are you basing this on other than seniority, which is a stupid reason? This is just wishful thinking and nothing else. He might start, and that’s fine...but this is not a done deal.
