Alex box needs a massive overhaul asap. It’s bad that a place like LSU who has a rowdy reputation has such a boring baseball atmosphere while blue law schools like ole miss and state are showing us up.
Baptist’s can’t party harder than us. Fix it.

I blame it on the configuration of the stadium. The stands are too slanted to hold in the noise and are too far away from the field. It is poorly designed and we went on the cheap. I am in favor of tearing it down and building the Taj Mahal of college baseball stadiums.

Walking into Alex box feels like boarding an airplane. So strict so far behind the rest

It’s not fun. I’ve seen people at miss st throw full beers in the air with barely a winning record. That’s the atmosphere I want to be

They sound fired up right now.

That’s just it. There is NO crowd. Nobody shows up anymore.
It’s a Thursday night against fricking Missouri.
I assume you’re posting this from the game?
It’s kind of tough to bitch about people not being at the game, while also not being at the game.
But since incessant bitching seems to be your shtick, I’ll just chalk this up to that.

Welcome to every team in the country when you’re ranked 4th or 5th in your division When we’re good and/or in the postseason the ol girl still shows out. I do understand your sentiment and it is aggravating to see Dudy Noble and Baum have such a fun atmosphere contrasted with ours that has very little passion compared to the old Box. Like a third of our crowd took a Xanax in the parking lot. Just remember how live the Box was during our run in 2017 when Hess was strutting around the pitchers mound.

LSU baseball season tickets are hard to come by and many of the ticket holders are older. My dad started getting tickets in 88. I started getting them about 5 years ago. 2 good seats in the grandstand and most of the people around me are over 50.
Bottom line is the baseball crowd is older and more laid back. Not saying that’s good or bad but it is what it is.

Metal bleachers, wide berth stadium far from field, generic ad signs everywhere, it really is a shitastic field for the fans
If a team is winning and winning big on a regular basis a stadium could have upside down 5 gallon buckets to sit on and an outfield wall that looked like a Nascar race fleet and people would show up and get rowdy. Never understood the argument that the material asses are sitting on and the fact there are signs on the wall have something to do crowd attitude.

Unfortunately, I agree. The design and overall corporate feel really killed the place. However, it still has its moments. They are just few and far in between. The last few years however...

Maybe because the team hasn’t been worth a damn in 5 years…

Agreed. Winning cures all. Atmospheres suck all over the country now. It’s not just us. People spend 99% of the game on their phones. That’s not just young college kids anymore. It’s damn near everyone. It can get loud in spurts but for the most part the fans are all preoccupied. It is what it is. Our facilities are fine. Y’all are a bunch of frickin titsacks.

The difference is doing that will get you kicked out of Alex Box. Those other places encourage a rowdy, fun atmosphere. The Box does the complete opposite

You can watch every game on TV now and you don’t have to pay $8 for a hot dog at home. Unless you live in BR, driving there from out of town vs sitting on the couch with an adult beverage in front the fireplace is an easy decision.

I wouldn't say its dead but it is definitely hibernating. It can be a intimidating place again if and when LSU becomes consistently good again. The crowds will be more consistent and vocal. But their is no mistake the new Box is a shadow of what the old Box was. Unless they do some upgrades and changes to the facility it will never reach the level of the old Box.

Thursday night games are tough.

Speaking as someone who grew up as an outsider and never went to the old Box, South Carolina built a new stadium at the same time we did. I've been to both, and theirs is a lot better.
