Outside of Tremont, Wade recruited some players with a really low bball IQ.
Hopefully that changes
Hopefully that changes

He will not be able to compete in the SEC with those guys, all SEC bench players.
I'm not suggesting he transport the entire Murray St. roster to LSU. But it is entirely possible he will have to build a roster at LSU starting with just a few returning players...maybe less than that, along with a signing class of (currently) zero. He has to start building a roster from somewhere. 1-2 experienced mid-major transfers who know he and his system could be a decent start. Auburn had two guys in their rotation from Eastern Kentucky and College of Charleston. Kentucky had a starter from Davidson. One of Arkansas' key players is a transfer from South Dakota.
No, the Murray St. roster is not going to compete in the SEC next season. But one or two of their best players could help, if combined with high-major transfers

Tevin Brown/Murray/Miller would be a dangerous trio

OK -- hope he brings us the next Ja Morant!!
Well, Morant was a very thin (160 lbs) 6'2" SG coming into college. Albeit one with greater athleticism that one might expect out of his frame, and a ton of length. A guy who could give you highlight plays above the rim, but wasn't a particularly great shooter.
That sounds a bit like someone already on LSU's roster...Eric Gaines. And NO, I'm not saying Gaines is the next Ja Morant. But if you looked at them coming out of HS they looked very much like the same type of player

I love driving past there when the college students are out rowing them boats ;)

Absolutely as good a hire as you could have expected with the sledge hammer cocked back waiting to fall on our program!

You are right, it would help to probably bring in a couple but everyone needs to realize he will not recruit SEC caliber players out of the gate. Even if he could...they will not come here to play next year with sanctions. He will be relegated to playing with a terrible roster and will likely not win but three or four SEC games next year. Hell we will be lucky to win 50% against the LA teams. There is not anyone here who will have the patience to go see a last place SEC BB team. I hope Scott is ready to give away tics and free food at games to get anyone in PMAC. LOL It will look like TJ games.

Great hire. Consistently gets to the tournament and runs a very fun offense. Will miss tPear but this is a step in the right direction.

I hope the doesn't "recruit like Wade"!

The whole key is if he can recruit like Wade.
Hopefully if he goes down that path he’ll have a burner phone and a couple of bag men….

People are downvoting you but I can’t think of many examples of high IQ guys that we’ve had under Wade besides Waters and Mays.

I get what you're saying about their stature but not even close.
Morant's 2 years:
Year 1 : 46% FG% 30% 3pt% 12.7 PPG
Year 2: 50% FG% 36% 3PT% 24.5 PPG
Gaines:
Year 1 : 22% FG% 17% 3pt% 2.5 PPG
Year 2: 40% FG% 25% 3PT% 9 PPG
They are both skinny and athletic but are on the floor for 2 very different reasons.

Great hire based on the circumstances.
Absolutely. About the best that could be expected.

It’s not RECRUIT like Wade, it’s SIGN the talent that WADE signed. Will he be able to get a chance or be in the position to give a “strong a$$ offer” to elite talent. WW recruited coast to coast and was on every short list of many 5*s. If WW didn’t get them imagine the Offer they got from the Clean lol program they ended up signing with.
