Best boudin on the west side of the river- what ya got?
Been outta town for awhile and really wanting some boudin on this trip back.

Wish I could make it to Krotz Springs but this is a quick in and out trip.

TIA everyone!

Bergeron's

It's been a while, but I remember them being pretty good. Hopefully someone can give you a more pertinent review.

Is there any other spot in WBR besides Bergeron’s?

Riverside in Plaquemine but it’s Iberville.

Riverside is pretty damn good. Last few times I had Bergeron's it was not that good. I will not go back

Never had riverside. May need to try.

Benoit’s in brusly, but I don’t love theirs.

The smoked boudin at Bergeron’s is real good. I’m a fan of the place. It’s not quite as good as the big places in Acadiana, but it’s the best around here.

Bergeron’s regular boudin is straight up not good. The smoked is okay, but it’s an acquired taste, very unusual texture and flavor profile. Literally tastes like a pork and sausage jambalaya cooked outside in a cast iron pot over wood stuffed in a casing.

What Bergeron’s does really well is everything else but boudin. All their smoked chicken products (thighs, wings, patties), the fried pistollettes and egg rolls, and the little steak wraps are all incredible.

You can buy Best Stop at rouses: I’d go that route before I ate Bergeron’s.

Another vote for Riverside and I’d say it isn’t close for this side of the river. Spillway sells Kartchner’s I think.

Some of their locations have erratic hours. The one in Gonzales used to close at something like 2pm. WTF use is that??? Some of us have "jobs" and we can't just break free to go pick up food.

Benoit's in Addis and it's not even close. In fact it's my favorite of all boudin

As are the chicken wraps, the deer burritos, smoked chicken wings and smoked chicken thighs. I get having a craving for boudin, but of all the things Bergerons offers, boudin ranks below all of those.
