Everything "has" to be a wakeup call but it isn't

This has been going on since day 1.

But this really is the kicker after Zion introduction press conference his dad takes the podium (which I never seen before, big red flag) and talks about how all the report's was false and how New Orleans was one of the team's that they hoped got the number 1 pick. It's the classic case of wanting your cake and eating it to.

I'm sure he/they weren't thrilled with going here, but in the beginning he bought in somewhat.. doing the college tour with Hayes and NAW, promotional stuff in NOLA, etc.

I still believe that the entire thing fell on its face in his first game when he sat the final 6 minutes and we lost. It embarassed him and -- probably more importantly -- his family.

I think we can all agree the well is truly poisoned at this time.

IF Zion comes back and he plays for us, there's going to have to be a lot of mending.

He also says he addressed this behavior to Zion in front of the team and then basically said he was a shitty teammate.

That was the most damning part of the whole interview right there. He just said he basically had to call Zion out in front of the team in the past for this same stuff. That’s crazy

Fresh start was always the play here. frick Zion

At this point I don't even think it's about a fresh start.

Zion seems like an immature child. His parents are ignorant fools. And his "handlers" give him shitty advice. I don't think a change of scenery would do anything for him, he's one of these guys that trouble will follow because of how he handles himself. James Harden, DeMarcus Cousins, for example.

I read the whole thing. It's a silly his parents are controlling him take that absolves him of responsibility. You compared him to Britney Spears, you think a 21 yr old really can't get to his own phone?

Right. It's laughable.

his mom and step-dad are so spotlight/power hungry they've stripped him of all of his power.

This was pretty well evidenced his first day with the organization when his step dad stood up and spoke at his press conference.

Add in his mom being his "nutritionist" and when the team tried getting him a professional one they declined it, his step dad as his "trainer" and again declining professional trainers offered to him by the team.

There's alot of red flags that lead to the thought that they're the ones in charge of his career and not him.

You can tell Zion is just a big kid at heart.

Where did I say this? Putting words in someone else's mouth?

The thing though is, NONE of this is coming from the Pels. Our hands are actually really clean.

If anything, the Pels sort of can play the "aw geez, shucks, those national guys are really piling on you, can't imagine how bad it could get in NY...But listen, we still believe in you, we just need you to put in the effort and prove the haters wrong, lock in, buy in, and perform"...as they high five and chuckle, thanking the national press for being the bad guy when Zion leaves the room.

One of the few times I would say the national press is actually helping New Orleans here. Because aside from SAS, no one is going to side with Zion if he tries to force his way out amidst all his bullshite.

The only thing left for Zion to do is sign on with Klutch and his heel turn will be complete. When JJ takes the Pelicans side against you, you know the situation is fricked.

All of this is so frustrating. Being a small market fan is so frustrating.

What’s the point in even getting in the lottery if your pick won’t even fricking play out his contract?

It seems like there’s no point in being a small market fan.

Zion individually is going to cause a nasty lockout, lol.

i was mostly talking about between the fans and Zion.

NOLA fans are a different breed. We rant on this city but once you show you don't want us the hate gets deep.

I mean Nola has just sort of been cursed in that regard with AD and now Zion.

CP3 Im convinced, and the evidence seemingly backs it up, would had probably stayed here his whole career if Shinn didn't frick it up. And guys like Morant, Giannis, Jokic, Lowry, Gobert, Conley, BI, Duncan, and others show that there are definitely top 30 guys out there that come through the league and will stick with non glamor markets.

AD doesn't belong in the class with Zion. He was made of glass but he gave us 6 good years and he wasn't going to win a title here so he left. Zion has barely even tried. He belong in the class with Gordon and Bledsoe.

Sadly Gordon gave us more good years with effort than Zion too.

It is INSANE to think we have already found someone more dislikable than AD.

AD did just about EVERYTHING wrong regarding his exit strategy (from a pr perspective) and Zion’s got people out here saying stuff like this. CRAZY.

Well, since Zion is run by his Mom, the only PR that makes it out from his camp is the gossip she has with her bridge club.

This is getting insane.

The guy doesn't want to be here. Thats why he left and thats why he hasn't responded to CJ. He doesn't give a frick about our trades.

We've turned the guy into Britney Spears...

Did his mom and dad give him special phone time to slide in all those IG models dms he's been caught trying to hook up with? Guy's just aloof and goofy, and we've turned him into a toddler.
