Dr. Pais said she was trying to help a badly hurt carjacking victim at Costco and no one else offered aid, in fact one man asked her to move her car.

NEW ORLEANS — A young doctor is speaking out after she stayed by the side of a woman injured in a carjacking.
She says the violent crime unfolded in front of her Tuesday afternoon at the Costco gas station on Carrollton and Palmetto.
The doctor's medical training and reflexes kicked into action as she went to be with the victim on the ground, but looking back she wonders could she have been in danger if the criminals were armed and began shooting.

If you are in New Orleans you are in danger...always remember that.

She knew she wasn't in Kenner because he didn't ask her to move her car, bruh.

She doesn’t need to go that far. Sams gas (Metry and Kenna) is cheap and carjacking free.

Good news is that she is protected from all those unclean 5 yr olds when she goes to get a dinner in Nola. Doesn’t she realize how lucky she is. Just think of all the health risks in JP and across the lake.

I have to spend all day down there on Friday. May start bringing the AR instead of my normal concealed subcompact.

In a sams club parking lot, yes.

I'm a little surprised it happened at a Costco parking lot...

And then there’s the other video of the dude that got carjacked. He broke his phone in the process. He had to pay $1k fix his phone and the towing/impound fees after they found his car. Meanwhile, zero consequences for the criminals. Unreal.

You’re wrong. We just need more programs and funding.

Most big cities are dangerous. Living two hours from the nearest city is a blessing. The commute sucks but having a safe, peaceful place to live is worth it.

Really boggles the mind how in the year 2022 there are middle aged adults who are only just now coming to the conclusion that New Orleans is an unsafe shithole.

I guess better late than never.

Absolutely agree.

This city is being ruined by black people, not all of them of course. And that’s the elephant in the room: violent crimes in Nola are near exclusively committed by blacks, not whites and not Hispanic/Latinos.

But don’t you dare say that because you’ll be labeled a racist and fired from your job.

If things don’t clean up this year, and I don’t see marked coordinated efforts in the city to stop this, I’m moving to Jefferson parish.

…guess I’ll start looking at moving companies and homes in JP.
