You argue that black football players are measured and observed on the field to be better than white players and this is why 90% of football players are black (although representing just 13% of population). I agree with this logic. This is why football is successful and people like it. Using this logic, then shouldn’t observation/measurement approaches be applied across other vocations of society? Or is your approach just valid for football, basketball players, etc? Are there any aspects of life where metrics for other races could be measured to be better than blacks? Is it ok to discuss these things or would that be racist?

They have been sucking it up for years and cannot get a coach period. Then you have free agency. The thought process is if you hire an African American candidate that guys would want to come play here.

So why would these guys all of a sudden want to play for Jacksonville? You saying they would want to go there because they would have a black coach? Isn’t that a bit racist? Would it be ok for them to say that? How about if a white player went to a team because they have a white coach, would that be ok? Or would that be racist also?

the rooney rule has created black retreads, who make the other black coaches look bad, or possible bad hires. is this done on purpose? i would hope not.

But remember, losing in NFL pays you a lot of money,, ask Stan Kroenke, he purposely lost for a decade, while nfl contracts still lined his pocket. He made large profits to lose, that is a problem.

The simple solution is to stop watching it. I finally gave up with the whole Brees bending the knee fiasco. It is great not planning my weekend to watch other people play a game. I refuse to be lectured to about privilege by a bunch of people that make way more money than me.

I wonder why more white guys have so much more money than black guys… surely it couldn’t be the system this country is founded on which just saw black people able to vote not long ago.

You know what, life isn't fair. Where would all these black athletes be if all slaves were shipped back to Africa at the end of the Revolutionary War or the Civil War? Stop complaining about the past and what you don't have and work hard for the future.

Obviously because team owners hate black people and would rather hold them down than to win games, make money and be celebrated for being unracist.

Guys this is so stupid. It is crazy how a persons comments get twisted. The fact of the matter is there is a problem with hiring in the NFL. The other fact is that things like the Rooney rule were out there to help but are they actually helping or making things worse. I don’t know the answer. My thoughts are comments. The start of this thread made me feel like we should all just do better. It is as simple as that. As we hear more today it is becoming more relevant. The NFL has/is screwed up when it comes to these issues. I bet the Super Bowl is about to be done.
