The problem with the Rooney rule is that some owners know who they want to coach their team. If he is white, then you patronize some black guy by interviewing him.

It sucks this happened to Flores, but he’s a dipshit for calling this racism. He may get some chicken shite settlement, but it will be less than what he could have made as a coach. I guess we are finding the reason that Ross canned him.

Hopefully Elon Musk will buy the Denver Broncos (a team, which by contractual obligation, must sell to the highest bidder... No matter what) to become the first African-American NFL owner.

This is a stupid analogy. Athletic skill is measurable and easy to see. There are thousands of white kids that play CB and RB at high schools across this country. If they were good enough they would get noticed and get scholarships at big colleges and eventually the NFL.

Coaching doesn’t work that way. He can’t have someone run a few drills, put on some tape and see he’s a good coach. He has to, you know coach. You can’t just take someone with zero experience and make him a head coach obviously, you have to give people opportunities as analysts/GAs the position coaches and coordinators. There has some been progress at these lower levels but it’s slow. Eric Bienienmy and Byron Leftwich have both been successful coordinators but still haven’t gotten HC jobs, why? Before anyone says it’s Reids offense or anyone can coach Mahomes or Brady (ignore Leftwich was OC when Jamies had 5000 yds and 30 TDs) that hasn’t stopped other coaches like McDaniels from getting jobs failing and getting another one. John Mcwhorter (author of Woke Racism) has argued calling it racist and systematic racism hurts the “cause” because it’s not overt (we are not hiring blacks cause they are black) racism. But it has the same effect. There is no reason why Leftwich and Bieniemy shouldn’t be head coaches next season.
