My guess, they'll push something through the House just to watch the Senate burn it down just before the mid-terms, by design so they can point the finger at the R's... screaming 'see what the the R's did!!!!' all the way to the election.!

Chances are there are a lot of LSU football fans in here and they won't like this factoid: college athletics is not only killing education, but it's also the reason all of the liberalism began leaking into them. Colleges should have intramural athletics for students, scrap the professional system they've had in place for decades now.
Paying guys like Nick Saban 15 million a year and building billion dollar stadiums and the hundreds of millions they waste on these programs every year to serve as NFL minor leagues serves zero purpose to better society and also makes education costs go through the roof. Plenty of documentation online that proves the vast majority of all major colleges lose tens of millions a year on their football program alone. Scrap all college athletics IMHO. Club teams and intramural are all that should be allowed.
I am sure I will get dozens of thumbs down but anyone who went to college over 25 years ago knows that a college education used to be reasonably costed. Now kids end up with 100-200k loans that some will likely never be able to pay back.
Same goes for allowing our tax dollars to be spent on any foreigners attending our schools. There are almost 1 million, yes ONE MILLION Chinese nationals now in our colleges.

It took me 17 years to pay off my college loans, but I paid them off.
So unless a Biden plan gives me a refund to the amount that he is forgiving loans now, then I say hell no to loan forgiveness.

I think inflation currently has this issue DOA. Biden got elected because he was seen as more centrist, yet he's been anything but (see approval rating). If they continue to frick with the economy, they risk never getting elected again.

I don't think they will offer some crazy "forgive all loans" policy but some relief, say
Just drop all direct federal student loans to a 1% interest rate with 15 years or 180 minimum payments before forgiveness.

If what Beck is saying about the federal reserve is true, that we know for a fact 30T was given out to banks around the world to bail them out during the last recession when they said it was 5T, and that they have been giving banks a trillion every week for most of the duration of the pandemic on top of the money printing, our fates are sealed and everyone in this country is fricked. We are staring down a crash of epic proportions in western countries.
This is why Deagle thinks there will be 66-100 million people in this country by 2025 (or shortly after)

They should make it dischargeable in bankruptcy like any other loan

The loans they are giving wouldn't be given under normal loan circumstances.
If government wanted to play a better role in this than it does, it would allow people to take out loans, but repayment would be a 10% garnishment of wages until the loan is paid off.

They'll probably pause payments again once the previous pause expires in May.

Student loans are an investment which increases the borrower’s income for the rest of their life.
I used my loans to get degrees that I use to make a decent living.
Why should I expect people who don’t make the kind of money I do to pay off MY loans.
Taking money from the lady who works at the grocery store to pay off the student loans of her doctor is ridiculous.
The doctor makes good money let him pay off his loans.

They are too busy ignoring the “Clear and Present Danger” on the Southern Border while looking like a pussy to China, Iran and Russia…..oh and learning about inflation from his haggard arse wife’s friends!

Most of that money is made up by donations to private foundations such as TAF.

The kids that are grading undergrad with 100-200K in loans are going to private schools many of which play small division sports. Or they are going to out of state public universities and borrowing everything.
Sports spending is out of control, yes, but it can't be tied to higher student loan debt.

So if I already paid mine back, do I get a check or what?
