The Trail of Tears was a death march

That's a hyperbolic take.
Many died along the way, but not most.
Jackson didnt give them a choice, but he did pay them and give them another place to live that wasnt a reservation.

Every president from Lincoln to Harrison literally wanted to exterminate them.

I am the 'rightful owner" of my property, until I don't pay my taxes. At that point, I'm just a deadbeat and the government takes it from me.

Are they taking it from me for the whites?

I’ve long argued that if Natives were a larger demographic, democrats would be arguing they’re the most oppressed group in America historically and not blacks.

i suspect that the Cherokee tribe might actually be the missing tribe of Jews, or possible norse or irish ancestry. They kinda of came out of nowhere, and their written language has a lot of similarities. What if the original Cherokee’s had DNA consist with European or Arabic ancestry, and the native american traits etc where from breeding with other Native American tribes. The transplanted group that was hidden in the mountains (smiths) passed as white people for 100 years.

This is great article about Cherokee in Kentucky that includes Daniel Boone and some of my relatives. If you look at all the indians in the pictures at beginning you can see what i am talking about.

The government says that the Indians don’t own the land, so they can’t be the rightful owners. What are you talking about?

White peoples government, not the Indians government which was there first.

I can’t believe the rationale of some of y’all justifying the conquest over the Indians and saying it wasn’t rightfully their land "because people conquer people all the time". If Hitler won WW2 I guess France and Belgium and Poland and Denmark and Russia etc should all be fine with it because "people conquer other people all the time".

Well, you seem to be an expert on the Trail of Tears and other things relating to Native Americans - but you don’t give a ‘frick’ about an example you used incorrectly Who are you to say someone’s wife is or isn’t something? He could be lying, but we know your information is wrong

But he is correct about none of this implying he is a badass. That meme was a non sequiteur.

In a sea of absolute frickheads on this board with god awful opinions, 3rd grade reading comprehension, and (at best) a basic grasp of history, you truly do rise above them all. And getting all of that done in the month that your alter has been active is impressive.

You are judging them using modern values. In those days ALL PEOPLES believed in the right of conquest. The Cherokees conquered land from aborigines; the Norse from the French, the British from the Asian Indians, the Russians from the Slavs, the Mongols from the Russians, the Chinese from the Mongols, the Japanese from the Koreans and Chinese; it goes on forever.

Only in modern times have we tried to assert the principle that current boundaries are morally permanent, and even that has been tenuous.

I hate to break the news to you....people have won, lost, been forcibly relocated for millennia. The US, Chinese, Soviets, Mongols, Romans, Persians...every great power that existed has pushed, subjugated and relocated people. Is it wrong today - yes. I'm sure you are doing something today that someone 300 years from now will think is downright barbaric.

This nation suffers from a terrible guilty conscious and forgets the great things it has accomplished.

The US gov't probably broke every treaty they had with the native americans.
If not, they broke more than they kept.

The Indians were just squatters. They didn’t build the mounds or have any idea who built them.

They just moved in like they owned the continent after whatever catastrophe wiped out the more advanced civilization(s).

They were fairly nomadic, the plains Indians at least.

IF you ever want to see how communism doesn't work, visit a reservation or native village.

After watching a bit I realized that there are some parallels to modern day. False promises, attempts to disarm the populace, Jackson's thinly veiled desires, double standards, shady deals, etc. are eerily similar to our current situation with the government.
