My fiancée shocked me yesterday. She has a newer model Chrysler 200 and a headlight bulb went out. These bulbs are hard to get to, you either have to remove the front passenger fender well, or remove the radiator cover, air breather and some metal covers inside the fender to reach it. She went out there and removed all that shite under the hood, replaced the bulb, and put it back together correctly. 99% of women and probably most men would have taken it to the dealer.

Just wanted to brag on her. Sorry no pics. Anyone else’s wife/gf mechanically capable?

Mine will rely on roadside assistance for any emergencies, and rely on me for the usual stuff. Either she or I ran over something and we had a flat on her SUV, and she didn't even want me to put the spare on. I ended up calling roadside to come put it on mainly because it was 30 degrees outside and what am I paying for if I never use it.

No but I "make" my wife "help" me when I work on her car. We both go to the shop, put on some music, drink, play darts and tinker around. I don't have neighbors so we can do whatever we want.

Well, this summer mine got in a rush and moved her car. New Audi Q7 with all the crash prevention stuff on it.

She did it so fast that the car didn’t have time for all that to initialize and she backed into a trailer that was parked directly behind her.

Cameras, sensors and her own danged eyes from when she got in the car didn’t help.

$2500 in damage.

So, no.

She takes it to the car wash every other week, and occasionally even gets her own gas.

had a GF once who i bought a used car for, about 6 months later she tells me its making a funny noise.

i go look and its piston knock, then she tells me "is that why the red oil light has been on for 5 weeks?"

had another GF ask me to show her how to change the oil, so i was more then happy to, and when i crawled under the car to show her what to do and turned around and she was gone, i go inside and ask whats going on and she says she thought it would be fun but it was dirty and boring so she left

if you find one who isnt a mechanical idiot you found the unicorn and should marry her. i am so jealous of guys whos GF/wives are mechanics

Can change windshield wipers, tires, maybe had added fluids. But that’s about it. Takes her own doors and roof off her jeep.
But can back up a trailer like a boss.

Mine won't even call the dealership for a message that pops up on the screen.

Can back up a trailer and fill with gas (occasionally). I feel blessed all things considered.

Mine is REALLY good at timing it to where it's always on E when I get behind the wheel. It's actually pretty damn impressive.
