My job is directly linked to several large manufacturing plants (consumer goods), and we are seeing 20-30% gaps in labor due to Omicron. This will exacerbate an already shitty labor situation.

If my real-time view is any indication, might consider a stock up trip soon.

You’re correct.
I work for a company with a 300 person manufacturing plant. Currently 20-25% of employees out with covid.

Shortages of what? Those assholes better be building my boat. I need it by March and I've been waiting since September.

I have fish to catch.

I'm becoming more convinced that the "C" in Covid stands for "communism"

Not really consumer goods related- but the prescription medication shortage situation is starting to hit a lot of people. Our front office and medication compliance staff is getting slammed with patients calling about their medications taking sometimes 3-5 days to get filled. Controlled substances that can’t be transferred between pharmacies and often other medications that can cause problems even missing a day without are resulting in less time with patients because we have to cancel and write new scripts. Psychiatry is already in super high demand from what I’ve just referred to as pandemic strain. We have no openings 10 weeks out. It’s a shite show people.

Not surprising, considering where it was made.

You are correct with the example or pharmacy items . I have a special needs son that monthly are constantly short on or not available for days after a order. I cannot order early as it’s a prescription item .

I hate these type of posts. They get me every time. I've probably done extra shopping trips at least 4 or 5 times based on these supply line posts. I'm pretty well stocked up for a while with non-perishables.

But sure enough I'll probably hit the store again this weekend, and my wife will think I'm losing it a little more.

One of these days I'll be right damnit!

But they can now return to work after 5 days. Shortages will be short lived. Because once this one burns out, we may not see another variant

These OP type of posts has been on going since covid started.

This time seems more real because covid has many out of work on top of the democrat shipping mess in Cally.

It is wise to always be prepared as if you lived in GTMO and were told to have Hurricane prep baskets at all times.

Don't flip out, but think of meds, OTC meds. first aid kits, canned goods.

A few grocery chains started limiting how many items bought to eliminate empty shelves.

No one needs a truck full of TP. Be smart buy a bidet toilet and baby wipes, portable toilets for use in hurricanes.

IOW's unless you are extremely wealthy and own a bug out shelter condo, always have a pot to pee in. As in a true emergency, like someone attacking and taking out our electric grid- or a bad storm/hurricane bidets won't work.

We have been told to prep for product shortages in the oilfield. Phosphorus is a major component in a lot of our scale inhibitors and Chi-nya is shutting down production for two weeks to make Beijing not look like Early 1900s Pittsburgh for the Olympics.
