When looking at safety, quality of life, income/job market, raising a family etc. where are the best places to live in the US?

We moved to Fairhope a year ago, it checks all those boxes.

I’d really like to move to Wyoming. It looks beautiful.

Life is what you make of it.
Anywhere can be a great place to live if you are happy with yourself.
And there's no where on Earth that will satisfy you if you are unhappy with yourself.

I agree with that, but I was looking for specific nice safe places.
With enough money you can be safe and happy in most areas because you can buy into a bubble of exclusivity.
I am looking for current places where the crime is low and the area is nice economically, but not unaffordable.
Hidden jewels out there….

Fairhope is great, but it's more of a retirement town. Daphne is a better option for being among other young families in that area. If we're all honest, Wyoming and the like is probably a lot safer just much colder.

I would rather take my positive attitude to San Diego, CA., than Fargo, ND.

"Locally", The Woodlands is hard to beat.....truth.
That said, there are several suburban areas around Houston that would be quantum leaps ahead of LA. And, many of these areas are now providing work opportunities where there is no need to venture into Houston proper (i.e. no commute).

I always get hammered for this, but Western Kentucky is beautiful, has great scenery, but has nice towns, and is close to Nashville. I would love to live there.
I would also like to live in Idaho/Wyoming/Dakotas/Montana area, just to be away from idiots that are ruining this country.

I live in Baton Rouge.
I've never been shot. I've never been robbed or burglarized. I've never been scared to go anywhere but I'm also smart enough to know where not to go.
I've raised my family with no issues whatsoever. I thrive at my job and have become rich. Cost of living is cheap on average.
The people are good, parties are fun, crawfish boils, LSU games, Mardi Gras parades, festivals and fairs, beautiful walking area around the LSU lakes, etc. Great fishing and fresh seafood.
1 hour from New Orleans with a professional football and basketball team, international airport, unique culture, historic significance, wonderful first class dining.
Yes, traffic isn't good and our politicians suck, but you can complain about any city. Don't get why everyone jumps on the bandwagon of hating BR and NO so much. It's easier to shite on something than it is to stand up for the good qualities. Stop being lazy and talk about the positives.
