Depends upon job, interests etc..

Kinda hard to work as a chemical engineer Wyoming.

If you have young kids 2 -18 then that will determine a lot
of your choices. Schools are usually top priority if you have kids these ages.

JAX is not a bad place to live if you are near the beaches or St.johns County. Start getting closer to Downtown then you start getting questionable but that's most major cities.

If i wasnt married with kids my choices of places to live would be a lot wider

This isn't true. New Orleans has a unique food culture and more interesting high quality options than even a lot of big cities. I recently moved to Dallas in the last year and while there are great quality top end options everything has that chain generic feel.

New Orleans has a lot of problems, but shitting on it for something that it clearly is great at doesn't make you sound cool. Just tasteless.
