I don’t know if I necessarily admire them because I don’t know them, but I will give Harrison Ford and Richard Gere props for pissing off China for speaking out for Tibet, especially Ford who doesn’t really seem like the activist sort

Anthony Bourdain. He was an addict and had some troubles, but I enjoyed his commentary on international culture and American tourism. He was a realist that never shied away from bullshite idealism of European bourgeois.

I think Arnold deserves to be on the list. Him and the Rock. They aren’t saints but they do a lot to promote positivity in the world which I like.

Michael Sheen is more British than “Hollywood” per se but his charity work is pretty incredible.
