All these guys leaving , recruits etc . Did these guys have the easy street after 2019

There were problems inside the program other than Orgeron although he is ultimately responsible. There is a reson that coaches that many like were not retained other than Kelly wanting his own people.

The transfer portal has made transferring easier now but this how coaching changes go. LSU fans don’t realize the transition from Miles to O is very rare in college football. O was hired in order to keep most of the coaches, players, and recruits together. Brian Kelly was hired to shock the entire system and rebuild it.

In hindsight, letting him finish out the season was probably not a good idea. I know Woodward was trying to do the right and respectful move but naming Brad Davis the interim and cutting ties with Orgeron would have been a tough but probably better call.

How can you hold your players accountable when you didn’t hold yourself accountable? The program quickly became a joke. There were no vocal leaders who policed the team.

You won’t figure this out until current players go through BK’s off season program and spring ball. The transfers right now are guys who weren’t playing and we’re likely transferring anyway.

The current group of players did not sign with Brian Kelly, nor do they really have much of a relationship with any of the coaches remaining on staff (except for Brad Davis, who has been at LSU for less than a year). Even moreso with the recruits. Thus, you could understand why some may want to consider other options. That isn't something that is unique to LSU.
It is no different than if you were recruited to work at a company by upper management with whom you had a good relationship, only to then have the entire group of execs be let go. Maybe it is a great place to work and you have no reason to want to leave...regardless of who are the execs hired. But it wouldn't be unreasonable for a person in your position to at least have some uncertainty and maybe consider leaving because the current work environment is not the one you initially agreed to join.

Orgeron didn’t treat and use 2019 as the standard, he treated it like it was the endgame

Exactly. A coach has to walk it like he talks it or players will see right through it. Obviously leadership from the head coach is important but to me it's secondary to the team leadership and players holding each other accountable. They are the people who really know what's going on in a locker room. And when things start going sideways a team with good leadership can get it straightened out. LSU just hasn't had that since 2019. Seems like it became every man for himself.

I disagree. Look at USC right now. They have 4 comittments and are ranked 103, behind Temple, UConn and Wyoming.
Orgeron, for the most part, was able to hold the team together and we were somewhat competitive down the stretch. I don't think the culture around the program would have been any worse with an interim.
The biggest issue with the program is what's been mentioned, the transition from Miles to Orgeron. The culture of the program was already breaking down under Miles, and while Orgeron temporarily breathed new life into it, he didn't do anything to actually address the underlying culture issues.

Are you insinuating Raymond or Joseph was an issue? I don’t understand why people talk it code.
Posted on 12/13/21 at 12:27 pm to Sid in Lakeshore
Well he had months to deal with the feeling of coaching his last game or year

Are you not paying attention what is happening nationally? Guys transferring is far from an LSU and Coach O thing. Look at Auburn, lost their starting QB and RB over the weekend. The new transfer rules are here and we will continue to lose guys left and right even with BK.

All you had to do was look at the poor conditioning, the opt-outs, the "injuries", etc. to know things were not as they were supposed to be.

Not just an LSU issue.
There were several thousand in the portal the past months.

Orgeron didn't give a single shite about coaching after 2019. He knows he will never reach that again and stopped caring. He was a loser coach his whole career and finally made it to the top and had no desire to try again
So glad that bum is finally gone
