What you just used as examples is not expensive. If you only eat out occasionally as a treat and can afford it then stop worrying about it and just enjoy the treat.

Just checking...did any of your family have anything to drink with your meals or did everyone eat their meal dry?
How does no one read the actual OP?

4 people for 50 bucks? Seems normal
What do you believe is the worth of this comment you made? He specifically discussed a meal that has gone up 32% in a year, and you are saying that you don't generally find it expensive to pay $50 for 4 people to eat.

Did no one read in the OP that it was freaking Backyard Burger? $10/person, especially with 2 kids meals, for fast food is pretty high
I've never heard of Backyard Burger so I looked it up before posting earlier. It looks like a burger costs around $6. Using the online ordering app, 2 classic burger combo meals w/cheese is $19.38 and 2 kids meal Jr burger combo meals w/cheese is $12.18 for a total of $31.56.
Either taxes are super high where OP lives or they left some things out. Even splurging on the Double Classic Burger Large Combo meal get that total to $35.16 before tax.

When I was a kid the ONLY time that we ever went out to eat was after Church on Sunday and that was usually to a place like Western Sizzler or a Smorgasbord.

Well I dislike paying 40 to 50 for fast food. I'd rather pay 40 to 50 more and eat something good.

The bill for the 4 of us to get sh!tty Mexican is now around $50 before tip. That same meal was around $38 a year ago.
So it went up $3 per person? That's really nothing.

38 to 50 is really nothing? Lol ok

Something going from $9 to $12 isn't a significant increase to you?

The US Dollar is in the process of becoming worthless.

Any big city, the going rate for a drink is $15-$20
You serious?!?!
That ain’t right
Yes, NYC is more $20-$25. Major cities $15+ is about the norm.

We rarely go out to restaurants now for 2 reason, 1) is covid and being around potential sick people and 2) the cost of drinks with a meal is getting outrageous itself. I'll take the food home and eat it.

Fast food, unless off of a value menu, has been high for a while. Most decent combos are $8-$12.

YNWA is a leftist sympathizer. there is no inflation in his mind
Posted on 12/10/21 at 3:03 pm to jchamil
it is significant but it's kind of funny considering the thread title

So an increase of $12 is nothing?
Please tell me why you think that is so?
