They have a cool coat of arms. The ASDF is currently under reorganization. It doesn't seem to be a priority though.

A fighting force where most of the enlisted will be already fighting high blood pressure and obesity. Great idea!

Is that why the military targets young conservative fighting age males for recruitment?

You morons do realize these militia will be comprised of those same fighting age conservative males, right?

I don't know that I know anybody in the Louisiana State Guard. At least, I can't confirm it.

Cool.

The National Guard should be abolished, and the states return to state militias. Comple independence from the Pentagon.

I would join for free and purchase my own uniform and equipment, and transport myself where ever I was needed.

If we stay in Florida I may have to volunteer to be a part of it.

Age limit? Do we need to bring our own weapons?

That would require a serious build-up in the Reserves. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying it would require some non-trivial adjustment, either in our global strategy or our current force structure.

If people are serious about secession this must be done in many states for it to have any chance of success. There has to be a large standing army ready to take control of US military assets in all states that are willing. Otherwise it has no chance.

Good to have at least one person in power with leadership skills that would make him an excellent president.

Both need a significant adjustment anyway... Bring troops home, quit being the world police, and the adjustments in force structure would be minimal... Might need to bulk the Navy a little, maybe some more strategic lift...

I've heard that technically, all state workers are in the Louisiana State Guard (i.e. drafted if needed) but never found anything solid on that.

The closest I found was on Wikipedia (of course, not a totally reliable source, but it's something) and it said that only certain "key employees" are automatically members (but it referenced a source outside of state law, so take it for what it is worth).
