It is never as good as a hotel. The furniture and beds are never that comfortable. Generally when I do it I am there to be with group of people or family but just not enough room to chit chat or watch TV. Also always wonder how clean they are.

I have a fetish of jerking off in other people's homes so it is a win for me

Nah I’m with you brother. It used to be cheap but now most airbnbs are more expensive than a hotel with all the extra fees. With a hotel a lot of times you’ll pay less, have more amenities, and will be in a centrally located city.
I also hate all these companies buying houses and turning them into short term rentals.

You are going to the wrong ones.

Nope. Gave up on them a few years ago, way too many fees.
When traveling I am not in a room long enough to give a damn about the level of "comfort."

They make sense when you would have to book several hotel rooms to accommodate the party but other than that, no thanks

Unless you need a house for some reason, a hotel is better 100 percent of the time.

I don't have as big of a problem with the space or beds/sofas. My issue is half the time the wifi doesn't work (we need it for business reasons and our autistic child watches videos to wind down). Also rent a huge house and the have a small saucepan and a scratched teflon skillet. But advertised as a full kitchen setup. Then the owners harass you to give them 5 stars.

All the rules of cleaning up, running dishwasher and laundry upon leaving plus the fees
Unless you need an entire house - no thanks

How about 1 on top of a cliff high over a river with miles of rolling hills around it? How about one with a lake in the backyard?
Done both. Worth it!

I think more and more people are done w the STR. Between the added fees and the chore list; when you’re already paying a cleaning fee, people are overly annoyed. They still serve their purpose, large party, lake house, cabin in woods/mountains; but in cities I think people are starting to turn back to hotels

Can’t stand them either.
It’s only good if you have a large group - even then I’m leaning towards just getting multiple hotel rooms.
The amount of bullshite they demand, plus no turndown service and little amenities.
It really pisses me off when ABnBs don’t have essentials like soap or shampoo or trashbags but still charge for more than hotels.

In a city you've not had experience in, at least with a hotel, you pretty much know what to expect.
Not so with AirBNB.

I can’t stand them. They’re generally dirty, unsanitary, and the ones I’ve been in were run down and needed maintenance.

I've enjoyed every AirBnB I've ever stayed at. All have been clean, exactly as they appeared online, and have never had an issue with owners.
I've stayed at AirBnBs in like 20 different cities and several different countries.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I still prefer a house/cabin to myself in a neighborhood or the mountains than a hotel.
