Did the school buses you rode in have air conditioning?

Do modern school buses have A.C. ? I know the EBR bus drivers are complaining about their buses not having AC. We just rode with the windows down on hot days.

Nope. No seatbelts, either. Hell, the first few only had the one emergency exit at the back.

No, and it wasn't all that long ago. Bus chock full of kids. People are soft and charmin these days

Nothing like having a headache from hell on a school bus with no AC. Nowhere to run or hide? I gave up the goods at least once that I remember

I did. Got very lucky to have an owner/operator who took a lot of pride in his bus. Only bus at the school that did, if I recall correctly.
Honestly, I think it made the kids behave better being on a nice bus. Mr. Mike took no shite. If you kicked his seats, he was going to chew you out. God help you if you wrote on or cut his seats…
