A/C?

Hell, we had those green hard fiberglass seats until I was in middle school.

Bus no AC

But school started after Labor Day not in August. They need to return to the old schedule.

Hoover Alabama buses do not have AC or seatbelts.

The seatbelt thing is because, in an emergency, one bus driver will not have time to unbuckle a bus full of young children. I doubt this will be changing.

My hometown didn't have school buses (maybe still don't?). I assume this was in response to integration bussing.

I used to think that school buses were a TV/movie trope that didn't exist in real life.

ETA: This was the 90's, too.

No ac
No seatbelts
Windows opened by sliding up…
… . So if you hit a bump sometimes they would pop the latch and window slam down.. keep your hands and head in and if not you probably arrived home with a nice gash and bloody head … remember it well in first grade … window slammed down on a girls head… then we all saw the girls head with blood and hair and kids threw up

Nope, our AC was putting down the windows. This made it miserable on rainy days.

If we were feeling tough on especially cold days we would take off our jackets, drop the windows and play "freeze out" (winner was the last person to put their jacket back on).

No AC. Grew up in EBRP
had to put the windows down and sometimes your fingers would get stuck. Fun times.

We had 50 per class in no air conditioning portables.

Those square pizzas everyday were the best!

Nope but I only rode the school bus for a couple years in Bama before moving to Wisconsin where we only needed heat.
