Who here has been fired?

Never been fired or laid off. Only quit one job on the spot. Been at my current for 15 years.

Knocks on wood....

Not since college. Got fired from some bartending jobs while attending LSU for dumb behavior. I have not lost a real “grown up” job.

I worked at a morgue. Too many accidental cremations.

I just got fired because we were bought out by a big corporation, and I was the highest paid in the department.

Got fired years ago as a laborer in a plant for sleeping during a “paid break”. It was BS. However, I was in welding school paid for by the company so I continued going to school and when I finished school, one of the guys I became friends with in the plant got me back on out there as a welder. So I got fired and came back about 3 months later making more money than when I left.

Ive been laid off once when the company i was working for sold and my branch that i was in was closed. They gave me the option of moving to Cedar Rapids to work but didnt want to do that.

Been laid off once in 40 years of working, because company was sold and stripped for assets only.

Any other changes were by my choosing.

I had 5 employers go bankrupt or shut down in 2007 (mortgage business).

Back when I was 21, I was asked to not return at a BBQ drive thru window because I was hung over and overslept the breakfast shift too often. It was a "wake up call" to get a real job in the mortgage business.
