Arkansas is a coaching graveyard. Campbell would be crazy to take it, hes got a good thing going in Ames.

They should look at the guy from Tulane.

Nutt was here for 10 years and Petrino could have been here for 10 if not for problems out of our control. Bielema was here for 5 despite an 0-11 or whatever SEC start and was close to winning 9-10 games in back to back years. He was pretty close to working out until the latter part of his tenure.

I fail to see how Morris being one of the worst coaches in SEC history makes it a coaching graveyard. Maybe because John L. Smith was bad as an interim? Not real sure where you guys get this stuff.

Agree, doubt Campbell would even leaving Iowa St, except for a big time job. Surely not for a big time rebuild.

Iowa St can pay him. Why would he leave a conference where all he has to do is beat OU and maybe a Baylor or Texas vs playing in the SEC West

Seems doable, except that Iowa State never has won the Big 8/12. They've finished 2 seasons ranked in their history. They are in a state that probably has around the same number of FBS players as Arkansas (just guessing on that), but they are the #2 team in the state.
Arkansas is in a historically tough division. But they have accomplishments. And heck they lured Beliema from what is objectively a better job.
Yea he could hold out for something better...but he'll have to at least keep up his current pace at Iowa State and that may not be easy.

For Arkansas's sake, I hope it's Campbell. Kiffin might revitalize the program in the short term, but they can't afford another unpleasant divorce.

The SEC West is more fun when Arkansas plays competent football, so I hope this next hire works out for them.

Ark is not a destination job, it's a way-point on the path elsewhere. All any coach has to do is show improvement (shouldn't be hard when you can only go up) by winning a few conference games and go to some minor bowl and then he can then springboard to a big league job.

It is for the right coach. Kind of like Uncle Ed at LSU. LSU wasn’t a destination job for Saban. It just depends on the coach and his situation. I figure many coaches take jobs as a way-point, and then fall in love with the area and University.
