Dan Lanning’s resume includes two whole seasons as a HC.

And national champion Georgia DC. That means way more than a bunch of NAIA wins and you know it.

I think you are being a little too judgemental. DeBoer is a fantastic hire...of course I'm an LSU fan.

For three years

Has he been to the natty like DeBoer?

Not to mention DeBoer beat Lanning twice this year

Considering that Saban wanted to hire Ryan Grubb for OC last season and did a deep dive on the UW program, resulting in him being impressed with Deboer and thus recommending him for the job, I would say YES.

You. Are. Dreaming. Never in a million years would the Alabama AD have considered Deboer if Oregon was in the playoff instead. You don't really believe that.

You asked and I answered. If you don’t want answers don’t ask questions.

I hoped for honest answers. Should've known better.

Come on, man. Even as an LSU fan, this is a good hire. He's no Saban, but nobody is.

The honest answer is that Saban recommended him. And Saban is about process, not results. So making the playoffs is irrelevant if you are doing everything right.

I hope he’s a complete fricking failure. But I also think he’s a great coach.

I like how everyone is discounting that he took Washington, which went 12-13 the previous 2 years (skipping over COVID year), and went 25-3, getting to the title game in his second year.

It’s not like he was handed a strong program and just coasted along.

This was as good as they could hope for based off of who was available.

Did he? Or did Penix? Curley Hallman was a coaching prodigy when Bret Favre was his QB at Southern Miss, and Favre didn't even make it to the Heisman ceremony.

Saban famously recommended LSU hire Houston Nutt when he left us. For real.

Lane kiffin would have had ole miss in the 12 team playoff 2 of the last 3 years

That’s a tier 3 SEC school and he is consistently getting them top 12. Why the hell they didn’t immediately go there makes no sense

Agree. Apparently some burned bridges there. Saban did not approve.

Who recruited Favre to Southern Miss? Alabama may as well hire Orgeron because he brought Burrow to LSU. Stupid point.

Your "argument" against him was destroyed. Now you're spinning.

Pennix isn't some special talent. DeBoer made him and hid his deficiencies.

KD has skins before he has Pennix, too.

He was the backbone in making Indiana relevant

He brought a dying Washington back to the playoffs in 2 seasons. Complete turnaround

And he did well at Fresno

He has D1A skins
