Chad Morris is a better coach than Sumlin.

I'm giving Ole Miss a pass if the NCAA has not handed down a decision by hiring time. This limits their options.

My money is on UT. But I will not count FL out.

I can see Arkansas making a solid but unspectacular hire.

TAMU will likely make the best hire of these, which is difficult for me to say.

Sumlin at won at the cusa level. Chad Morris hasn't proven he can even do that.

Probably, but there is no evidence to suggest that.

sumlin also had a cusa program that had all of the inherit advantages over its conference mates where morris is at the most difficult program to win at in the country

Tennessee, their last 3 coaching hires were questionable.

Florida made what was believed to be 2 good hires that didnt work out. Muschamp is having success at USU so that leaves more questions.

Arkansas just got unlucky with Bert. His record at Wisconsin didnt translate.

ATM will probably keep Sumlin. He just needs to hire a good defensive coordinator.

Ole Miss needs to hire a coach with impecable integrity. If they hire a coach that brings more sanctions they are screwed. Basically they need a Les Miles type coach to get them through whatever sanctions they get.

If i had to guess who will screw up the most it will be a coin toss between Tennessee and Ole Miss. Arkansas has shown they will go after a power 5 coach who wins and I dont think Sumlin will be fired.

ole miss imo. arkansas, atm, tenn and florida all seem to have some good candidates they can get fairly easily. ole miss can pay a lot but i don't think they'll have to roll the dice.

Florida State or Texas, either one. Their existing coaches are stinking it up.

History tells us that Arkansas will hire someone on paper that is solid.
History tells us that Florida will likely hire someone solid or a known coordinator
History tells us that Ole Miss will find a solid mid major coach
History tells us Tennessee will end up settling for their 3rd-4th option

So Ill go with Tennessee

I don't disagree that SMU is hard to win at but if he is an elite coach i would expect to at least see signs of improvement eventually.

Boy, it has been a train wreck for them since Fulmer.

To be fair, though, before Saban, I think you could say Alabama was doing just as bad after Stallings.

If the question is who gets the worst hire on paper?

I would say Texas A&M.

In reality, I lean TN or Fl. I have to wonder if too many chefs are in that kitchen when it comes to making the hire.

I hope we don't hire Aggie Chad, but what you posted is dumb.

Sumlin took over a program built by the great immoral genius Art Briles. He also inherited an NFL quarterback whom the NCAA awarded about 25 years of eligibility. UH was gift-wrapped for him and he still couldn't win a conference title.

Chad took over an SMU program that had won one game the year prior. June Jones had quit 2 years before getting fired and wasn't even recruiting anyone anymore.

Foley isn't hiring for UF.

UF is hands down the best job opening.

So they are the least likely. Remember...we don't have the same AD, so the past guys hirings aren't on the table now. And from the sources..and people I do know as well living in Gville for 30 years, going to school there, and having a lot of family friends that are big boosters. The Kelly rumors have merit. It's not done. But it's likely. I think the big thing is figuring out his old NFL contracts and working on small details in the contract.
