I'm in the camp that House has to go, and will go.

Do you do it now if you're BK? Or just after early signing period?

Seems like it may not happen until after the bowl game. If so, you've got to convince recruits on the fence to wait it out and not sign early.

I'm in the camp that CBK has been doing this a long time and has a formula for optimum outcome.

I also subscribe to House getting his 3rd year. He did not hire a few of the defensive staff that were responsible for glaring issues. He can only do so much in a CBK style system.

Thank you for being reasonable. There are so many pieces to the puzzle: staff, injuries, Denver Harris types, brain cancer, and also House.

At the same time, you can’t make comments like, “we should have used a spy against Bama.” Real head scratcher and someone should be fired for that stupidity.

Agree 100%. I think House has his issues, but I also remember him making some crucial adjustments in his first year. Our defense went from bad to kinda impressive last season.

I think his biggest downfall was not finding a system that fit the current roster. But that's just my observation... he may have tried. CBK not getting a DL assistant in sooner is on CBK. Our defense played noticeably better once Pete straightened out the DL.

Sounds like house is gone but may not happen til nfl regular season concludes

As far as recruits go, I’d have to think BK has informed them of his plan as well as what style of defense he wants to run and how they fit within that scheme

Possibly even he knows who he’s gonna hire and if so I’m sure the recruits were told of that as well

So trust Kelly to make the right decision?

But, it's not House's fault Kelly saddled him with bad or incompatible position coaches.

These seem like contradictory statements.

Your coordinators will probably stay on through the bowl game, even if they have an NFL LB job lined up before then, ahem.

Position coaches probably stay on until after signing day.

For a defense ranked in the 100's ? That's gonna be a big NAH for me.

not saying this has or hasn't happened, but that is putting a ton of faith in these drama filled 18 year olds to keep that quiet.

I suspect House is out. Probably going back to the NFL.

I think the timing is dependent on the replacement; they will probably want to announce it quickly. So I don't expect a move until the next guy is lined up, and ready to step in.

Who is calling the defense then? Coordinators are rarely fired before a bowl game if the team qualifies. They’ll leave if they get another job right after the season or get fired if the team isn’t bowl eligible.

Diaco who moved from analyst to ST/OLB coach after Lindsey got ill was a DC under Kelly at ND at one time. He actually won the Broyles award during that stint in 2012.

If they needed an interim for the bowl game I would expect him to be named.

When Willie Martinez is your DB coach.

This is the BEST answer.

Kelly has got who he wants lined up. Coaches make their moves early. You think Riley got the job, then the Kelly announcement was made. This was done way before. Woody had interviewed Kelly when he was at UDub. Deals are made, coaches are hired, they hold off as long as they can with a Head Coach.

As for assistant, a coordinator has input, some of the other coaches have some input.
