Just go ahead and say Ole Miss is poor.

Not worth it. Just like Kewan Lacy is nowhere near worth 2 million dollars but we are ok jacking up the price for y’all to “win” that battle

This is exactly how us State fans talk as we go 5-7.

What are y’all paying your defensive coordinator with no HC experience and Frank Wilson who was washed in 2017? Ole Miss is the only school getting fleeced here, let’s be real

I remember when everyone in Louisiana was up in arms because LSU was considering paying Nick Saban $1M after 2003.

They paid him a million his first year. Your memory is faulty.

This whole thread is hilarious. So now other sec school fans are talking shite bc we pay too much? But I thought the big talking point was that we were poor and even broke. We couldn’t afford to pay BK, how were we gonna pay Lane or anyone else worth a damn?

Maybe now the rest of the country realizes we are kinda rich. Thinking Kelly didn’t deserve his buyout never meant we could not pay his buyout lol. Big difference there.

LSU has as much of a stockpile of cash for football as nearly anyone else in America. If you don’t think so, you’re not paying attention.

I remember November of 1999 and people were making fun of LSU for paying Saban $1.2 million (making him the 4th coach to earn $1 mill or more a year, Bowden, Spurrier, Fulmer) when he hadn't won anything.

Oh, this cost will be passed on. Higher ticket prices, higher parking passes, higher concessions. Trust me when I say no university just eats these expenses.

Your coach is DeBore LMAOOOOOO

You mean the guy that just won a road playoff game? The guy that almighty Mich was selling their soul to get? You mean the guy that has a better record than Saban his first two years? Before you say Saban left him a goldmine, nah, 20 players left Bama when Saban retired including Julian Sayin and Caleb Downs. Remember your boy doing the "Bama was burning" thing when those players left? That Deboer?

I have no doubt some prices will be going up, but isn’t the idea that most of this NIL money is funded by major boosters and corporations?

I hate all this crap. I posted this in a rant thread.
The NIL and the one year and move on portal system.
Ten years ago when the debate was going on about paying players, some were saying many of these kids were poor and if we could just pay the players $250 a month or so for spending money, that it would be great.
The push back was it wasn’t feasible because you would have to pay the women sports too.

Now we jumped from that basic idea to where we are just the NFL. Worse actually because players can leave after only one year. This is not sustainable.

With all that said, if this is the new reality, I want LSU to be at the top of the hill with how we do it.

He’s going to have more losses in his first two seasons than Brian Kelly had at LSU in his first 2.
