There is no fricking chance in hell I'm paying to see LSU next year if Esminger is the OC.

I’m saying he is not elite but it will be a 50/50 chance it will. We need to let it be and see. But we win either way, it goes south and they all get canned and if it works everybody is quite.

Oh well. One of two things happen 1) O is out quicker than anticipated or 2) SE hits it out of the park and we are great again. Im ok with either.

Well, no, there's the third and most likely option: We maintain the status quo or a little less--solidly mediocre.

It's pretty smart by Alleva if you ask me. He can wash his hands of this and put it on O. If Ensminger shits the bed then we fire O/don't renew his contract Alleva can say, "I gave O every resource HE wanted, and HE couldn't get it done." Deflects it all on O, keeps his job, and gives the people what they want which is moving Aranda to HC.

Actually that won't work. Alleva now has a track record of failed hires. Identifying a few guys, panicking, then promoting a good-ole-boy on staff position coach.

I would think we'd all expect more from a guy who makes millions, don't you?

He should be fired. He can't even hire a coordinator. Amazing. Please, I'll take his job and honestly do a better job.

I literally cannot wait for the melts.

I'm kind of happy because it means that O and Alleva are one step from being fired now.

Then O doesn't get a new contract. Even if we have two more 8-9 win seasons it won't destroy the program. Then Aranda will come in and hopefully revitalize the program and bring in a truly great OC.

At this point, i don't believe it matters who O hires. With O in charge i don't think we can play for a 'ship. So if we can maintain mediocrity for two more seasons i call that a success, at this point. I am not saying it's what i hoped for or want, but i feel it's reality. A mistake was made by hiring O. I think the administration knows that now too. They're just trying to ride out the experiment without it blowing up completely.

Just to be clear, I think this is an epic disaster.

But I'm choosing not to be mad about it because I think it means YawYaw gets fired quicker.

I don’t know man. This would be a lot of hope to give up.

I don't out the coordinator on him. I blame O on him. The AD shouldn't be making OC hires. A competent HC should be doing that.

And for as much as everyone wants to shite on the football hire, which is deserved, we have baseball going strong and many other aspects of athletics are doing well. He won't be fired over O, unless things go well below 8-9 win seasons.

I am telling you he will survive this so long as he can keep producing winning seasons and bowl games. He won't renew the O experiment though. It will be Dave's show next.

I agree, but it couldn’t happen to a more deserving administration.
Alleva will go down as well.

The reason i believe he won't get a new contract is because of rhe one we just gave DA. That's who Alleva sees as the future based on the contract price and guaranty, imo.

The binder promised that this wasn't a rebuild. The binder promised the best assistants that money could buy.

TBL, the status quo is nine wins, as you said. Do you truly have faith that another nine win season next year gets Orgeron canned? I'm asking seriously, because I don't see it happening. There seems to be an overwhelming amount of support for Coach O somewhere out there. I can't see a +.500 season doing him in when that group that loves him is the same group that's absolutely losing their shite at the possibility of LSU considering Art Briles...

Well, since the football program is the engine that pays for ALL other sports except Mens Basketball and Baseball........ you kill the goose laying the golden egg and you can lose your head real quick.

Alleva hasn't exhibited the ability to make consistently great hires so chances are he wouldn't be trusted to fix this one..... if all this goes south of course.
