Minus a National Championship, Oklahoma has had as much success the past 5 years than any other team.

You have exhibited no air of credibility so I don’t believe you

This is speculation, not from a source or anything but OU is probably going to offer him something within the program in the future. Or give him more control then what he already has somehow. If they end up keeping him there has to be a down low deal if Riley somehow stays. Because OU is not outbidding LSU at this point in time.

1. LSU will get a top 3 QB almost each recruiting class
2. Half the NFL went to Norman to learn new offensive schemes from Riley
3. His offenses are consistently top 10 (I don’t wanna hear about defense.. Riley is not a defensive coach)
4. What other candidates have 3 CFP appearances
5. Coached 2 Heisman & top draft picks in consecutive seasons (that never happens)

Doesn’t need to outbid. Needs to get close enough where what we are offering isn’t worth uprooting

Scott Woodward is not above a monetary pissing match, and I have to believe if he gets in one, he does not submit.

6. LSU pays assistants well. Riley can assemble the best staff.

What are we looking at in terms of Money its 98 over 8? Or would we get into a pissing match if they match and bump it up?

Problem with that scenario (I know purely hypothetical) is that Riley is 39 and because of that I highly doubt he's thinking that far ahead. Honestly for both OU and LSU he might test out his luck in the NFL if he ever wins a natty.

Ask Texaco about those deals on a napkin and how one bit them in the arse.

Yes it is. You can write a contract on a napkin so long as all the other required elements are present.

Why do you assume Woodward is the one who leaked it and not Riley's people?

Yes, but who's to say the current offer on the table to Riley is SW's best and final?

IF OU comes around and gets close to the LSU number, tacking on another million to LSU's offer would be the kill shot for OU.

I don't think for one second on 11/17 that SW is already all in.

From an outsiders perspective it's been fascinating to see the tide turn on this board from Lincoln being a "soft" coach for the past five years to them jizzing their pants at the prospect of him replacing Orgeron, to now half the board thinking he's soft again and half holding out hope. All over the course of, oh I don't know, 48 hours? For 98 million dollars and a better coaching job, you'd think he would make the jump to LSU...but sometimes things don't work out and those same things and they make you think and go "hmm". Again, just an outside perspective.

Just curious, with all the discussions about money, how do the two facilities stack up in comparison? Enough difference to influence a decision?
