Oklahoma's defense does suck but that isn't gonna matter at LSU with the players you can get on offense.

Riley isn’t soft. The caliber of players he can convince to play at OU and in the big 12 is soft.

I am not disagreeing with any of this. My point is his key words "At this point in time" people are assuming Riley is in the bag or almost and he very well maybe. We likely won't know that until well after he is hired or not. This is a fluid situation and will likely change many times between now and when I expect a announcement the Sunday or Monday after A&M.

I don't know about an agreement but I know Scott offered him a nice package. I'm not buying the 12 per year. I believe it's in the 10 range and OU is in the 8-9 range. I'd be very surprised if OU budged from 8-9, but that's close enough for Lincoln to really sweat. And, I really don't see Scott budging upward either. It's on Lincoln, and it's always been on Lincoln. Does he want to leave his pride and joy for a couple mil? Does he think he can win at OU in the SEC? And, lastly, what's been said about staffing from each side? Who can sweeten the staff better?

Here, in the real world [of LSU], this IS part of the process. Saban can suck it, we have our own and the everybody else isn't part of it and can't understand it if they wanted to.
- We have our way of deciding whether the starting QB or the backup is best (it is ALWAYS the backup)
- We have our way of knowing whether the offensive player rotation is correct or not (it is NEVER), while ignoring the defense completely I'll add.
- And we have our way of monitoring a coaching search (It's like looking for the quiet moments in an hour long fireworks display)

I'm not sure I buy totally into this. OU had some very stout defenses in the late 2000s. Don't know the exact reason for their recent defensive struggles, but OU has had great defenses before.
