Saban lost to Dinardo in a bowl game. He lost two straight to Hugh Freeze. No one is perfect. Jimbo is a top 5 coach, 12 games doesn't change that.

Yeah how does LSU feel about the possibility of landing Herman now with Texas more than likely in play?

Not all coaching jobs Prerequisites are created equal. This isn't NCAA or Madden. Plug in and play isn't how it works. Miami made a home run hire in Richt. Was he the best name out there?? Just be open to possibilities.

You can accuse Miles of a lot of things. This is not one of them. He was a Tiger. Remove your anger from the situation

He was one of the biggest personalities in CFB. That is undeniable.

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but it's looking more and more as though he owes much of his success to Winston.
hmm...who recruited Winston, who developed Winston, who called the plays for Winston?

First Round Draft Picks developed by Jimbo Fisher:
Jameis Winston, EJ Manuel, Christian Ponder and JaMarcus Russell.

I'll hang up and listen to how bad Jimbo is...

The offense is still productive. It's his DC that needs to go. Charles Kelly has been a black hole on that staff.

We are not in the same position as Miami. This isn't a dumpster fire that needs someone to put it out. It's a rare job that has talent already there, a fertile recruiting base with no competition, and the money and faculties to compete with anyone in the country

We wouldn't "settle" on CEO.

Is he the sexiest name out there. Not at all. I'll tell you what he is tho...
•He is a larger than life personality
•He bleeds purple and gold
•He understands this state and its culture
•He 100% lets his coaches coach. (Ex: Big Time OC)
•He is still one of the best recruiters in the game
•He adapts very well
•He gets the most out of his guys
•He's done what numerous other coaches can't do, he's learned from his mistakes.

I think too many LSU fans are underselling CEO because they want the flavor of the month. Tom Herman is a great coach, don't get me wrong. But fit wise, CEO is pretty strong as far as LSU head coaches.

This is the best argument for Coach O that I've seen.

Well done.

Explain how coach O wins one game against a bad Mizzou team and you are all on board

But a national championship winning coach known for developing QBs and recruiting, loses a couple games and OH HELL NO WE DONT WANT

Fundamentally, if he has major success this year, it is going to be pretty hard to keep holding what happened at Ole Miss over his head. The argument isn't that LSU should hire Bebe based on what he is right now. The argument is that LSU should hire him based on what he does this year. If he does great like willing 7 or 8 games and beating Bama, why wouldn't you hire him? Because of what happened over a decade a go? How does that make sense?

If you want me to be blunt I will, if it's Herman or bust for some fans... Then they might be disappointed. The only advantage the LSU job has over the Texas job is a 1 loss LSU has a better shot at the playoff than a 1 loss Texas. Not many coaches are going to want to jump in bed with Arkansas, Bama, Ole Miss, aTm and Auburn when Texas is the alternate option

Is he?

Jimbo Fisher's record with Winston: 27-1 (.964)
Jimbo Fisher's record without Winsont: 44-15 (.745)

Mind you Les Miles' record the past 4 years (which is why everyone wanted him fired) was 37-14 (.725) against what many consider to be a much tougher schedule.

I'm not sold.

Richt had talent to work with at Miami too.

He has a starting QB in Kaaya.

The RB Yearby is good as well.

It does seem you have changed your stance on Jimbo now. Previously you said that ship might have sailed so it is good to hear you saying LSU has a chance still. I think Herman is going to Texas so Jimbo really is our #1 option.

Why does everybody look at what he did 10 years ago instead of what he did 3 years ago? Football isn't about what you did a decade ago, it's about what you're doing now.

There is no such thing as a guarantee. Track records don't mean shite if it's not a good fit.
