I agree, and honestly, I just want Tulane to be poised to make deep playoffs runs in the future when there is a G5 championship.

think Tulane is worried more about what makes them great, academics.
They used to be. The administration is increasingly succumbing to the woke mind virus.
The arts and sciences magazines did a feature article a few years ago glorifying an angry student who wanted to "decolonize" the curriculum. Nevermind that a proper liberal arts curriculum covers a diverse set of subject matter and always has
The med school glorifies Richard Levine.

I'd love to see them upset Ole Miss. Especially with LK saga ongoing
Now, if we want to talk baseball..... they absolutely have an opportunity to be a contender year in and year out.

Which is why Tulane de-emphasized athletics in the 1950s.
It made sense at the time. The 1947 hurricane was as bad as Katrina and they were still recovering. The fourth floor of Gibson Hall didn't reopen until 1957.
They were also a football power in the late 1940s. The 1949 team was ranked in the top 5. They went up to South Bend and got curbstomped. College sports wasn't big business in those days and they couldn't hang with the national powers so why bother with a luxury like football?

You can also have Tulane in the CFP... but that doesn't make them the best program in LA.

A few years back ATVS ran a good series about LSU through the decades and in the 50s when Tulane could actually challenge LSU and the series was roughly split, Tulane brought in chancellor / president that changed their program mindset to more academic, less athletic.
They haven’t really recovered.
