This absolutely torpedoes Ole Miss’s pity party.

My Dad taught me if a girl ever told you she wanted to break up, you say, “sounds good. Have a good day.” Any other way and you look like a fool.

Some are saying for OM it’s different. I would remind them that we poached Baker from Missouri, and Drinkwitz put our similar sentiments to these about his leaving. That was an SEC to SEC move. OM leadership does have some blame in this.

A bit of a different situation than your coach leaving for an in conference rival

That’s where ole miss is mistaken. You can’t just claim something you are not.

Tulane knows it's a stepping stone so it easier for them to do this. Ole Miss is not wrong to tell Lane to take a hike. LSU fans would be pissed if the shoe was on the other foot, but of course simple people can't be objective.

They knew he was gonna leave when he told them LSU called. The best thing they could’ve done, is offer him as much as they could to keep him. If he declined that, then proceed with as much harmony as possible. What ole miss did was nothing more than causing a scene. And cause a scene they did.

So who recruits for Tulane during this time?

It appears as though Tulane has made the decision that one single recruiting class isn't worth destroying a playoff team.

That decision was available for Ole Miss. Ole Miss blinked, and LSU will reap the benefits.

Not really understanding the rival angle. So because he’s leaving for a rival he can’t coach the playoff? If he was leaving for Penn State, then that would somehow be different?

Seems like Ole Miss is throwing a pity party and would rather torpedo their magical season than keep the band together for a championship push.

Ole Miss is not getting back to the playoffs in the next 10 years. Tulane might actually have a better chance to make it as a G5 winner.

My man. I’ll try to explain it.

Sumrall is not recruiting against Tulane anymore. Lane would have been coaching Ole Miss and recruiting players to LSU at the same time all the while Ole Miss has nobody recruiting for them.

Not close. Lane wouldn't have gone from FAU to Tulane.

We'll enjoy him at LSU for 4-5 years then he'll itch for the NFL and we'll be back to sauces at Christmas parties telling us what Lane said about the Giants job like with Saban back when.

J.J. McCleskey more than likely.

He will probably get retained by the next coach just like he was with Sumrall.
