Arkansas is screwed. Most people don’t see it as a place you can win at. You’re in the SECW and simply can not out recruit LSU and Alabama. You are not going to pull a winning coach away from another Power 5 school.

Yeah Arkansas did exactly that with BB.

Although I will admit the landscape has changed a bit now.

I think all signs point to Kiffin or Leach, but that’s just my guess.

Meanwhile, Mike Leach is there for the taking.

1995 SEC West Champions
1998 SEC West Co-Champions
2002 SEC West Champions
2006 SEC West Champions

It isn't always about recruiting. It is about development as well. The 4 seasons listed above show that Arkansas can compete in some years with Alabama & LSU in the SEC West. This isn't saying Arkansas will perennially be at the top of the West, but history does show that Arkansas should compete and with a bounce here or there, have a chance every so often to make the SEC Title game.

This would be a valid point if Arkansas hadn't already done such a thing over the last couple of hires. By all indications, Arkansas hiring Bret Bielema was a very big hire for the school and the league. The hire prior, Arkansas hired Bobby Petrino away from an NFL gig.

I also understand you're more interested in trolling in this thread, so reasonable and logical conversation about the Arkansas opening is likely not going to happen with you.

Agreed. To some extent with Bobby Petrino as well, but he left the NFL team before the season ended. Not the same, kind of the same, but you get the point.

The league has changed over the last ten years, but not enough to where Arkansas should be where they are at currently. I think most Arkansas fans know we are not going to contend for the West every single season. Petrino contended 2/4 years here. Nutt won or shared the West 3 times. It can be done.

Adding aTm to the mix really should not make that big of a deal in reality. No matter what aTm fans may think, they're the same program they were when we were in the SWC back in the day. Look like Tarzan play like Jane. Thats not a shot at aTm, but the reality of their program over the last nearly 100 years.

I think I would be okay with Kiffin if he could get a quality OL coach and a quality DC. His off the field antics bug me a bit, because I hated that with Bert.

I am probably one of the few that are not terribly high on Leach. He just seems off his rockers sometimes and I am not sure the fit would be there with the folks of Arkansas, but thats just me.

You are what your record says you are, by the end of this week Arkansas will be 40 games below .500 all-time in the SEC. 91-130-2

Leave it to a Bama fan to try to diminish another teams accomplishments because they cheated.

I think you cheated your English teacher as well. Guess that makes you the winner, huh?

Aubie’s are going to have to come to grips with the fact no school is buying Gus out. If you want him gone you’ll have to pay a hefty price.

Yeah, mostly the same way Auburn did it. Bag men, new cars, jobs for family members, and grades on demand.

No reason to leave Minny or Iowa State for Arkansas. They are lateral moves and both programs are in better shape long term than the hogs
