Not at all.

Canada tried this and it didn’t work.

O made a decision as to how he wanted the offense to look, and then went found the guy to fit that mold in Brady.

I would expect the same here.

The system was fine. The problem I had with our offense this year was much more detailed. Steve Ensminger was like a kid with a box full of new toys (the playbook) that Joe left behind when it came to offense. He tried as best he could to emulate the flow of it, but it just wasn't the same. And it looked just like that. It looked like a local cover band trying best they could to play a song, but just wasn't the same as the original artist's version.

Lebby was 8th in 3rd down conversion pct and 107th in Red Zone efficiency this season
Longo was 22nd in 3rd down conversion pct and 29th in Red zone efficiency this season.

We need a legit OL and WR coach more than anything. Too much talent is wasted at those two positions undeveloped outside of last season.

Fix the OL and this team has a ton of potential next year.

Running game looked bad and was abandoned because the OL played awful.

Outside of the Vandy and some in the USC game, it was awful. It improved a built with Johnson because of his mobility and even then wasn’t great outside of against a worse defense than ours in Ole Miss.

The veteran line last year was good not great, and saved by quick passes and the elusiveness of Burrow and CEH.

The talent was clearly there too, but the team schemed around the OL weaknesses. This year, they tried the same but did not have the talent at QB and RB to overcome an even weaker unit.

We couldn’t run the ball at all.

We had no play creativity.

You act like we’re the only team to ever run a crossing route.

Lebby was 34th in TDs
Lane went for it a LOT.

Which lowers your red zone % because your not kicking field goals. May give you a few more TDS.

Because all we ran was inside Zone.

I remember when this board thought that red headed douche that was recruiting coordinator should be the AD.

I’m all for new blood but “this guy or I jump” approach is ridiculous when you don’t actually know their role and importance on staff.

Man it's easy. Jeff Lebby from Ole Miss or Phil Longo from UNC. LSU could easily afford either one, and neither is tethered to their current school as an assistant head coach.

What are you getting with Lebby, because Kiffin runs that offense and is super hands on? I’d rather have Baby Briles than Lebby because we know he can run a great offense on his own.

frick Phil Longo. He was shite against good teams at Ole Piss. His offense is very simple and good defenses can slow it down. We can do much better than him.

Didn't LSU hire a couple guys this past year as analyst? One was supposed to be an offensive guru!

I feel like that's all we ran because thats all they ran last year

They needed someone to come in and merge an offense with joe brady's offense
Now if that happens, this offense can be electric. Running game included
Its like they were scared to change anything because of the success the year prior.

Just think of this offense with some motion and a quality running game.

And when we had decent O-line play we could run the ball and pretty much do why we want. Complaints seem to come when we CANT run the ball and don’t seem to be doing anything else to help out the QB.

So I’m assuming you’re tired of this system, is that correct?
I like the system, but I want a guy running it who knows it.

This is not Ensminger's system, this was Ensminger running a Sean Payton offense as interpreted by Brady in 2019. Brady left and they brought in Linehan, who seemed to put some of the stuff the Lions did in the past.

Basically, it's a pro style offense. Not a "pro set", or whatever it's called, with 2 backs, 2 WRs and a TE. This is more of what Payton runs, with a QB in the shotgun, 1 back, 3 WR and a TE that can split wide.
This IS a style not unique to LSU, and there are other guys who run it.

The system, overall, wasn’t terrible. As you mentioned, the lack of attention to detail and certain aspects of last year’s system wasn’t used. My biggest beef with E was his inconsistencies and going into lulls within the game. Who would you like to see them bring in?

How many runs last year that Clyde made yards on were stuffed this year with lesser players? Execution and talent means something.

If you need to break tackles In the backfield the ply isn’t working.

You can run ISO every play if you execute It with elite Players, but the chances of you being good enough when you’re predictable are low.

No creativity.

And remember our passing game wasn’t all that good.

Yea we were 15th in Passing yards per game but we were fricking 4th in Attempts per game. We were 61st in YPA
