And your point is?

Well, responding to you, who responded to my initial post where I stated I wasnt a fan of his personally due to things like this, however if he were hired and won who would give a shite?? I guess my point is STILL he’s not my favorite PERSONALLY, but I wouldn’t give a shite if he’s hired and wins.

Only thing that scares me about Kiffin is he likes to play games and would be afraid that he could show interest just to troll us and then say no at last minute just for kicks.

Exactly. The guy lives to troll. And this would be his masterpiece. It’d be his revenge for us not hiring him in 2021.

AND his buyout is only $3 million dollars. That’s the kind of buyout you’re looking for when you’re getting into a bidding war with Ole Piss.

because they cant wait that long needs to die. If Kiffin is your guy and he wants to come, you wait. The LSU brass knows this.

What if he's lying? He's not exactly a high character guy. He's very likely telling everyone that they are his dream job.

I don’t have a specific name because I haven’t looked into it much but I’d look for more of a “mold”.

I don’t want the big name/big contract “just because we can get them”. This time around I’m more in favor of a younger, motivated, demands the room type that players love. I prefer D coordinator types but understand offense is the movement so not opposed to that with a good D coordinator hire. I’m sure people have names already I just haven’t done a lot of looking into it.

And again, IF it is Kiffen, so be it. I don’t hate the guy and I think he’d do wonders with our offense and La talent with a good d coordinator. But I wouldn’t want to have to pay him what it will likely take.

I mean if you think you have him you would wait but let's not pretend it isn't a huge risk. If he changes his mind last minute (which could easily happen if they have success in the playoffs) you are royally screwed

Okay but If he makes it to the natty, why would he then leave for us?

and if they somehow to bring in kiffen they will be able to shore up whatever they need in the portal.

If we wait that long, we will lose everyone to the portal and won't be able to get anyone b/c our coach won't be in place until after the portal period. That's literally his point.

“LSU IS TOO POOR TO FIRE BRIAN KELLY”

“LSU is stuck they can’t fire Kelly “

“LSU is married to Kelly “

“Kelly will get at least 2 more years “

How many people swore by those statements in recent months lmao

Some folks will never learn. They were the same ones saying we’d be stuck with O bc there was no way they’d pay him that buyout. LSU has support and money to compete with anyone when it comes to football. If you don’t believe it by now, I’m not sure what to tell you.

If they want Kiffin that bad, they’ll get him. Even if it means waiting a couple of extra weeks. They’ll make it work. People don’t give the leadership enough credit for having their ducks in a row

I think Lane is happy at Ole Miss. In a world where rosters can be built through the transfer portal, Ole Miss is closer to a consistent CFP program than it was pre NIL/transfer rules, when they couldn't compete with the Alabama's, Florida's, LSU's, Georgia's, etc in HS recruiting.

But that's not to say Lane won't lead LSU and Florida along as long as they will allow simply to create a bidding war to drive his price sky high. Ole Miss is as relevant in football now has they have been in decades. They aren't going to let Lane just walk without a fight. Even if that means making him the highest paid HC in the sport (which is what I think will ultimately happen)

MYbe he's looking for an early retirement package. In that case, he might come to BR

There were more than a few of us saying this year was playoffs or the door for Kelly.

I give them zero. Having to be bailed out by the boosters isn't "having their ducks in a row". Is that enough?

Yeah, back before the transfer portal was cut down to a two week window in early January. Completely different recruiting landscape

Does Kiffin leave his high school son who just moved there and plays QB for Oxford high? Lane does go to the games on Friday night when Ole Miss is at home. Going to be interesting.

Yes let’s potentially wait till January to hire a coach that is notorious for playing games and trolling and easily could be using LSU to get a higher payday from ole Miss… ppl have to think logically we aren’t not waiting till fricking January on our next head coach esp one as unpredictable as Lane
