That's not true at all.
He would be one of my biggest melt candidates

When are new coaches usually announced?

I know that if we still don't know by January, we are prob going for a coach in the playoffs, etc.

But say we were hiring a coach at another team - is it usually announced during the season? Or after that team's season is over?
I like Golesh more but I wouldn't melt.
It would be just like Frank. He could get the team fired up but if he doesn't have the experience then we'll get the bad time management and play calling all over again.

Putting Riley on anything makes you a clown. Don't want Brohm or Drink either.
I heard his buyout is insane if he wants to leave. I really hope we don't go that route. He hasn't impressed me at all.
I would be so mad if we got Lincoln Riley.
This is probably a dumb question, but does ESPN+ not show the games?
"So you got a team like Indiana … who really never, traditionally, anybody looked at as a great job. And like Ole Miss, you know, Lane’s been really successful at Ole Miss, but how could you make the argument that LSU or Florida or any of those schools are better than Ole Miss based on the support that he has and how they’ve been able to manage things internally with all these external factors?" Saban asked.

"So I think everybody needs to be very careful about how they evaluate their opportunity," Saban said per On3, regarding Kiffin and other coaches considering a new school.

I'm sure it's no big deal.
Yeah, I agree.

Lane is high up on my list of coaches.

BUT I just can't get over his daughter being a student at Ole Miss. Knowing college fans: they are going to hate Lane if he leaves Ole Miss. That would leave the daughter in a very awkward situation if she chose to remain at the school.

I'm not saying she couldn't get over it. It's just one thing I think about with all this. LSU fans hated Nick Saban sooooo much for going to Bama, and I could only imagine that being magnified.
We can be a contender with the right coach steering the ship.

*IF* we had remotely decent coaching on defense in 2022, we could have done much better. And that's not me being a revisionist historian.

We have the talent every single year, but we need the right people in charge.
