Yeah I get hes a brilliant offensive mind.

But i dont see where we would want him.

Navy loss aside, because who really cares.. but, it seems to me that LSU needs proven talent, not a coach thats only just popped his HC cherry.

Im all,in for Jimbo at the present time.

Would you have hired Urban Meyer right after he just popped his HC cherry? Or Saban? Or Harbaugh?

If all signs point to a young guy being the next great one, it's a risk many would love the opportunity to take. Even if they just recently had their cherry popped.

Um he beat jimbo h2h with lesser talent

He also knows how to score all over bama with a 3rd string qb

He averages 1 loss a season and typically beats much more superior teams on coaching alone

Imagine what he can do with better talent.. he's willing to completely change his offense midseason if needed. He will adapt to his personnel any time and adjust.

He's an offensive genius and with Aranda would be one of the best combos.

I want a hc that is either an offensive genius or defensive genius.. like urban Meyer or nick Saban

That way when coordinators leave you still excel on one side of the ball.. and LSU can always get top DCs

Would be a nice change for LSU to have a coach who gets the most out of what he has to work with and he's young.

Herman is easily my 1a
Jimbo is easily my 1b depending upon DC

Not much HC experience, and I agree Jimbo is my #1, but I would still be very happy with Herman.

You are correct though... Lot of risk and "unknowns" with Herman. While he may be the next Meyer or Saban, it's also very possible (and probably more likely) that he isn't.

One good thing, though, if Herman is a bust... Everyone would have been wrong because pretty much everyone agrees, not just LSU fans, that he's the hottest HC candidate out there.

Great with QB utilization - See tOSU and UH
Is in Mensa with an IQ near 200.
He oozes with football knowledge when he talks
Despite his "Saban-like" losses (ULM, AUB), he can beat the best with mostly 2 star recruits.

IF, and it's an IF, Coach Eaux keeps the team playing all year like we played against Mizzou then...

Coach Eaux = 1a
Herman = 1b

Herman is my number one, but I'd be happy with Jimbo.

Besides the fact that he coached up a third string quarterback and gutted Saban's defense, Tom Herman is young and shows all signs of being for LSU what Bo Rein could have been.

He could coach LSU for 25 years and win multiple national championships.

You take a shot at this when you have a chance at it.

I don't get why Herman gets so much hype over Justin Fuente. Fuente worked a miracle at Memphis. They were an absolute abomination of a program for decades before he arrived. Now he's gaining experience at Virginia Tech leading a P5 program and already has them ranked. Herman may be a better coach than Fuente in the long run, it's too early to tell, but Fuente is a tad ahead on his resume currently because of the P5 experience. Virginia Tech is a strong dark horse candidate to win the ACC.

To me it's Herman or O. LSU better pull all stops to get Herman. Fact. That is my list and Fisher is not on it.

How do y'all figure that this guy isn't the next best HC?? Everywhere he has gone he has had success, that is the recipe for finding the next great HC. Actually he hasn't just been successful but has played for, won, and put his teams in the national championship conversations everywhere he's gone! Now if that isn't a great indicator of what he can do well then idk what to tell you? He's a great HC and a perfect match for LSU and what is needed here. Herman, Aranda, and Ed O simply means domination of our opponents. We would be a dynasty very soon. He's easily the best hire. He would also be a great political agent for LSU in the SEC. He's a great HC and leader. If he's available and willing LSU needs not look any further period.

I said this exact same thing not that long ago. He reminds me of Beau Rein's hire if it were to happen. We should jump on it asap.

Except Ed O may well leave if he finishes 6-2and believes he should have been selected as HC. This is a repeat of USC, IMO. Very tenuous with Coach O.

2014 and a 3rd string OSU QB say "hello"

A 3rd string qb who is one of.. all who has not and will not have success in the NFL. I understand he does not coach and we do not play in the NFL, but one of the things he has proven to me is that he cannot develop NFL talent as well as some other coaches, our former one included. Right now, no program, I will say it again, no program is having continuous success in the NCAA AND putting large quantities of successful players in the NFL. It is a choice right now, Herman is doing A, we have been doing B. My biggest question is when you do A over a ten year period, how long can you recruit successfully at each stop until your decline happens? Until people start negative recruiting against you with.." well Alex smith was #1 pick.. but" " Cardele Jones had a good college career, but he sells ins now" " Greg hardy Jr, was great, and his high school coaching career is fixing to take off"...
